Exactly. And the worst part is that is that you should be able to do as I suggest (A330 IFR from Heathrow to JFK) with PG on, live weather, real world traffic (or all players multiplayer) and all graphics options set to their highest allowable level and not encounter any issues. I wouldn’t even dream of attempting this as I prefer a whole number of frames per second rather than frames per minute but the console that has fixed hardware offers it which doesn’t prevent you from thinking it should be able to handle it. And this is without mentioning the multitude of scenery enhancement addons that are available in the marketplace that I paid for and it can’t handle
1.7.30.00000000000…
PS5
Textron Aviation Cessna Citation Longitude
All errors below were in the space of 10 minutes. Including the Amber warning for Terrain fail.
The errors never went to a full black screen and then reset they just instantly switched to the below error screens.
Live weather was active
No AI traffic nearby
ATC communication as normal
Brief Stutters after the APU went on and when going into 3rd person camera mode but back to normal when in 1st person.
Yeah just attempted to start a flight in the pmdg 738 between kdfw and Klas and got hit with the low memory stuff, we are definitely gonna need another beta build as this build is far from ready to be released
Xbox series X
Tried again and same stuff. I’m done for the day.
Multiple Avionics systems fail randomly in the longitude (and ALL other modern planes too !!!) autothrottle disconnects (It constantly yells at you “autothrottle, autothrottle, auto…”), TAWS goes through reset (you get a voice line about this),every display reboots or goes through re-alignment… basically EVERYTHING that is electronic in that plane is constantly killed and being reset. Even when you are standing still at the airport.
It was that way the whole SU4 period and got even worse with SU5 and thw new betas. The broken memory management systems kills at random every electronic system in board, to clean the RAM. Completely broken memory management with completely wrong priorities. The memory management MUST NOT kill ANY avionics systems! If it does, all immersion is gone. A missing tree is not as bad as constantly rebooting avionics.
@ Asobo … Do you hear us?
I am affraid they are not listening, neither even reading the Bugs people are reporting.
They are much more interested in the Surveys , that the important Data to Show how good they are.
The questions of the SUrveys are very well studied, so that people are leaded to vote Positive.
If people have problems they should vote the bad possible avaible..
! to 10, should be 1 or 0, Gut or Bad. Game Over .
This is the other problem with the surveys and I stated it in the survey thread. If you are flying the Savage Cub from a grass strip it’s probably ok (I haven’t tried this). If you are flying PMDG 737 or 777 from medium sized 3rd party airports, it’s generally ok as long as everything that can be turned off is off. If you are flying inibuilds Airbus from large hand crafted airports, it’s generally pretty bad. And if you are flying anything with WT avionics (Longitude, 747, 787, etc) from any airport, it’s 0 all the way
As someone who works with consumer insights in my dayjob this could not be more incorrect, but you’re welcome to believe what you wish. Same for making the choice to believe that we’re being lied to every time we’re told that they ARE reading it.
I’m a bit of a broken record, but I will refer to Hanlon’s razor on this one.
exactly, i constantly see updates about planes or airports… WHERE THE UPDATES ON HOT FIXES to fix this broken game. i can care less about planes or airports, dont matter if i can’t fly.
I remember in the SU4 beta when I posted that if felt like Xbox users did not matter and weren’t listened to in the beta, that one of the moderators assured us that was not the case and told us that some of the development team possess Xboxes themselves.
Well, you know, actions speak a lot louder than words to me. Perhaps the devs were playing Elden Ring but they weren’t loading up MSFS2024..

Probably they are reading, at least moderators. Moderators are looking for behaviour of conduct, dev´s are saying “it is all your fault”.
If that’s the case then why would they bother to release updates?
Updates, that Brokes what is working.
Well, there was someone saying to neu Bugs that it were “Features”.
Yes, the Volunteer Moderators (who, for those who don’t know this, are just regualar users and not Microsoft Employees) do read a lot (but not all) of the posts in the forum.
The Community Managers (who are Microsoft Employees) are also reading the posts - and you can see all their posts at any time too, by clicking on the …More option in the left hand pane & clicking Admin posts:

Plus, the developers are very attentively reading the SU5.1 posts as well:
Also, w.r.t. your comment:
Can you point me to the post that says this, please. - Thanks!
Hello @FS20246320,
We have no agenda about pushing people to vote for the good/positive options in the beta surveys. We want everyone who participates in the surveys to vote honestly and accurately. It does the dev team absolutely no good at all for people to vote for positive options if they’re not having a positive experience with the current test build.
Thanks,
MSFS Team

Xbox Series X. 16GB RC
Why am I posting having left the beta? Interesting results, that’s why.
Picked up the Skywards Simulations Citation 680 Sovereign on release knowing that the G500 suite would likely cause problems - I like flying business jets though and this looked to be a good one.
Edit - so starting off in the beta 1.7.30
Sure enough, tried to set up KMDW-KDAY flight - got as far as starting engines then got Low Memory and black screens.
Repeated with tuned down - all off - graphics settings. Got as far as initial climb off RW22 but Low Memory over suburbs
Third go, with reconfigured screens -details turned down, moving map instances reduced in addition to tuned down grsphics. Managed to take off and fly to destination but experience was right on the edge, broken sound, a couple of stutters on approach, no call outs on final, juddery landing, directional control lost on landing, standby HSI black.
I also inadvertently - on one go- spawned on runway - a stuttering mess with crackling sounds and black screens leading to a CTD.
Then the developers releases V1.0.3 as an urgent update - specifically addressing VRAM issues…
Tried the KMDW -KDAY flight again last night in 5.1, not the beta. Flawless. Graphics settings low/medium, kept my tailored screen config… One or two sound cut outs at times - but all systems worked, no stutters, no blurry textures, and flawless stutter free landing. Much higher LOD than the beta. Call outs and all instruments worked perfectly. 8/10 flight wise and this in what was an unflyable aircraft on Xbox before the update - link below is to a post with the change log.
I think this shows that cutting down LOD to help increase memory loading is the wrong way to go - specific optimisation issues need to be addressed - that is the EFB/ATC/ flight planning process where something clearly isn’t right, along with the aircraft that cause most troubles being optimised -textures and avionics. My experience last 24 hrs shows this will bring good and lasting results without tuning down grsphics to FSX levels.

Must add this to my Xbox Series X report - I tried the Sovereign in 5.1 before its update to 1.0.3.
It was practically unflyable - first go on ramp at KMDW resulted in a Low Memory warning and blank screens when I panned around the cockpit too rapidly just before engine start.
2nd attempt I gingerly managed to start up and taxi to end of RW22 and line up. On spooling up the engines I got a Low Memory warning, sound break up , black screens, followed by a CTD.
So the beta offers an evident but modest improvement in the memory issues (it doesn’t fix many of them though) at the expense of a big deterioration in LOD. The Sovereign’s update to 1.0.3 made a major difference and, at least to my mind, suggests that reducing LOD is not the right approach to solving the Low Memory issues - it’s pinpointing the areas where there are memory leaks, inefficient processes and poorly optimised stock aircraft. From what I’ve seen in the past 24 hours, a couple of reasons why the PS5 users are having more severe issues than on Xbox are - they have not got the luxury of being able to fly well optimised aircraft - and no way of being able to manage and clear RC..
Hope this is all helpful - by chance this was an ideal set of circumstances to evaluate some of the issues… apologies for TL-DR but unavoidable this time
