SimWorks Studios Kodiak 100 one the best aircraft for MSFS 2020

D’oh! Did that on my last flight but didn’t bother checking brt trim, assuming it was for something else! Cheers.

There is still the bug of deplaced numbers on the ESI500..

On exterior view, the landing lights are not visible on the plane, unlike the taxi lights.

Is visible icing on the Kodiak broken?

Today I flew over the mountains in Colorado, very much in icing conditions. I noticed icing on my windshield and so dealt with that but did not see any icing on the airframe. However I suddenly noticed that my climb performance was dropping rapidly and so even though I could see no icing, I flipped on the TKS. Climb performance was restored. Turned the TKS off. Climb performance lost again. All the while, I could not see a trace of icing on the exterior of the aircraft.

Yes, it seems so. We discovered the cause is a broken SDK tool and will sort it in the next update we do for it.

When is the next update expected?

When we are clear of the PC-12 we will focus on the Kodiaks. No ETA as you’ve seen how it panned out with the Kodi in 2021 and the PC-1× now.

Will the PC-12 come with Garmin avionics option as well?

If yes, it’s a sale.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but would it be possible to make the click spots for switches / dials slightly bigger? Using Tobii eye tracking I’m having a hard time hitting the right spot in flight!

530/430 or 750 options from pms and tds.

That is never going to happen imho. The Kodiak hasn’t been out that long in the real world and I believe it’s been carrying the G1000 since its inception.

Most devs try to limit the avionics to things that are at least plausible in the real world. You might even find an old 152 with GPS because, while rare, there are a few out there. I don’t see either the GNS or GTN lines to be placed in a Kodiak anytime soon.

Maybe you missed it, but I was replying to ZILLNIAZI17 about the PC-12, not the Kodiak.

This is the thread about the Kodiak so I think that’s why there was some confusion.

I did miss it. Just to add to the confusion, I’m gonna head over to the PC 12 thread and request a G 1000

Yeah the new bigger Kodiak 900 still uses the G1000 NXi .

A. The Garmin G1000 NXi incorporates envelope protection, along with data from the GTS 800 TAS and WX 500 Stormscope in the executive package.

B. The integrated GFC 700 autopilot uses a relocated control panel to the top center of the flight deck.

Just replicated this flight with custom scenery from flightsim.to for AYMD and AYGA:

Including the livery of Missionary Bush Pilot of course!

Hadnt flown the Kodiak in while, but still a great plane. Just give it the right trim, and it flies beautifully.

Just wondering:

  • Is it possible to open the cargo bay underneath the aircraft?
  • Will they ever include an EFB for this aircraft?

What does it need an EFB for?

With the navigraph plugin you get simbrief and charts integration directly on the G1000nxi. The takeoff calcs are a table in the pilot handbook, and you can download the tables as cockpit stickers from fs.to as a mod.

Chocks, covers, loading, charts, balance, weather, flight plan, etc. Just like the fact that rw pilots also have a tab with them.

I dunno, I can live without an EFB if it hit on frames - the performance difference between the FSR500 (with it’s superb EFB) and the Kodiak is pretty noticeable to me.

Quite simply it doesn’t. Perfectly fine as it is. The sim EFB’s are useless. I never use them if I can help it and would rather see devs doing something better. Now an app that runs on a real tablet that devs could create there own aircraft templates for would be cool. Just don’t like interacting with the in Sim ones at all. Its a cumbersome experience and most of the stuff in them can be done in other ways which is mainly what I do.

I fly exclusively in VR and can’t access a separate tablet, so I appreciate the built-in EFB.
