SimWorks Studios Kodiak 100 one the best aircraft for MSFS 2020

The wheeled Kodiak (v1.2.2) has my custom options and works just fine.
The amphibian Kodiak, however does have the options grayed out while it is set for Volocopter.
It does not feel right. So, I did send a ticket directly to the developer.

edit:
I just installed wheeled Kodiak (v1.3.3) and now (after cold and dark startup) the throttle moves, but not the power: that stays around 15 %. Only when I start on the runway, the power will go max and I can take off.
So, it now has exactly the same issues as with the amphibian Kodiak.
Also, in the VC wierd sounds: as if a washing machine is washing, even when everything is shut down.

Now both planes have same ITT warning:

Can you tell me which fuse is?
I’ve searched them but can’t find it.

Bottom row in the middle. With ‘3’ on it from memory. Labelled tooltip “Backup EFIS”.

Sounds like they work on a hotfix:

Struggling with the new LVAR for the throttle. It moves correctly, but the torque does not respond correctly. Full torque no matter what I do. See picture. Throttle position is at idle, but torque is max.

To confirm the LVAR is set correctly:

Anybody any clue on what is wrong?

Me, too. Very disturbing. I was just flying the new 1.3.3 Kodiak wheels and went to change some Assistance settings and there is was. Volocopter. Why?

@SamuraiSax

@TFEV1909 we have figured out the problem, 3/5 positive and 2/5 pending. Expect news tomorrow.

Haven’t flown the kodiak in su11 yet but flying another aircraft I noticed after a flight a brief look at my hangar with
A volowhatsit in it despite me not having flown that for months. May be related?

Ah. Seems likely.

Just wanted to thank you for coming here to help. We all realize this isn’t an official help forum and you could easily have said ‘see our discord’ for any solutions. Not everyone does the discord thing so we’re grateful for the extra efforts you and your team have undertaken to help your customers and fans. I think you are all a class act.

Might not impact because you’re locked.

I run unlocked so if I can go from 70 to 75 I’m keen to do it

Will give it a test, I forgot about the circuit breaker and thought I’d have to load the sim twice to do a side by side test.

EDIT: Just tested - getting 70fps same whether it’s on or off. So I think it’s good to leave in now.

Well they have to. This is honestly quite a miss, like how were these issues not found before the patch was released.
But what is done is done.
I am not worried, as i thrust SWS to fix issues that arise. I have enough other planes to fly mean while.

edit - never mind - just read post from dev and answered my query.

Just bought the amphib - really pleased that was done, too, so I can use it for SAR ops in Neofly. Very nice 40% discount for those of us who bought the wheeled version is also very generous, given it’s low price in the first place - thanks SWS! :+1:

It looks the LVAR range for the cockpit lever position is 0-100, but the actual power level is 0-1. I rescaled the axis in SPAD.neXt and it works.

The shortcuts to the amphib’s manuals are not right, but I’ve not been able to work out why. I tried replacing the Target box in the properties, but for some weird reason, it wouldn’t accept even a copy/pasted path.

I simply replaced the shortcuts with my own - but I’m wondering if anyone else had the same issue, as we should then inform SWS. If not, it’s just my PC - my wife always tells me it has a mind of its own!

edit: Just realised that the switch bindings manual isn’t there at all (though I get a shortcut for it). If it’s the same as the one for the wheeled model, not a big issue. I used the option to install in addition to the wheeled model, not the full product install. Might be the reason.

It should be -1 to +1, otherwise you may not have reverse thrust.

Latest build of the Kodiak is not respecting the default Asobo keyboard throttle assignments. The only one that works is throttle to 0 now.

They have a custom LVAR that controls throttle now. I posted an image above that shows a config that works for SPAD, but for me its not really viable as I have no control over where on my physical throttle the idle point lies. But it does give full forward thrust as well as reverse thrust.

Not really viable at all for me either especially considering the aircraft has been respecting the default Asobo assignments since day 1. I assume the Floatiak has the same issue?

I think I read that it doesn’t. Perhaps that plane was already done for release, and these power changes only apply to the wheeled version, for now at least.

Work is being done on this. At the weekend I was planning on having a play with the scaling, to perhaps extend the range to push the idle point further down the axis, as it were.
