Is there a limit to the size of the add-ons you can install at the Community folder? Mine is 30GB so far.
Don’t think so. It will keep increasing loading times though.
Maybe there is a size limit you should self impose. Sceneries you don’t use increase the sim loading time.
Otherwise, I don’t think there is a limitation.
Suggestion try Addon Linker.
You can install all your addons and custom scenery in a folder away from your community folder and the linker just creates links to your files. This for me is great because a lot of the freeware is poorly named and you often wonder what the hell it is, this mod allows you to sort your addons and rename them.
So I have a folder called Scenery and in that is regional and country scenery. I have a folder for airports and that is also broken down the same way.
With a regional scenery layout you can just load up Europe or the USA for example, in the addon linker, instead of everything in your community folder which saves loading times.
A key point about using the Addon Linker to only load those addons, scenery, airports that you want to use in that session.
Well I agree that the addons are poorly named, so to overcome that I rename them before I add them to the Community folder. To have an addon linker sounds a great idea, but unfortunately I don’t know how to implement this. Can you explain it to us so we can easily do it.

There is a video tutorial linked in that page. I created a new folder away from my Community folder and moved all my addons there. I separated them into descriptive folders and structured it so the folder layout made sense to me.
When you launch the addon you have to provide the location of your Community Folder and your new addons folder. If done correctly it will display the folders for you, then you tick box against those that you want to load.
It creates links inside you Community folder which points to the location of your files.
To save load times only tick the boxes of the scenery, liveries, airports and planes that you want to use in that session. And you do this before launching MSFS because what is in your Community folder is read and added to the Content.XML as the sim loads, if you make changes once the sim is running the changes will not take effect.
