Skip to near airport not final

I think it would be a good idea for career mode to skip to maybe 10 miles from airport rather than to right at the entry\final. It would still allow a decent amount of time to get setup or change if required.

I guess this is also depending on the mission location and flight plan. I experience many times to opposite, skipping to 150-250NM away from the destination airport (mind you, with 208B at 11000 feet so its still a long way till decent). Usually this happens if the pattern entry is far from the last waypoint, but sometimes it works good and puts 40-50NM away in those occasions. Of course it also happens when it puts me right above the airport in cruise altitude and I can circle around for a while to drop. I think the problem is the inconsistency of these that is the problem overall, when I skip I have no clue where it will put me. Some people mentioned in other threads that they spawn on the airport itself with cruising speed.

I would like to be able to indicate how far from the destination airport I would like the ‘Skip To Destination’ (alt+n) function to bring me. This could be a general gaming setting.

It’s very jarring to be suddenly in pattern over the airport.
I don’t get to practice descents or vnav.
I don’t get to see the scenery as I fly in to the destination.
It’s very unbalanced from the start of a mission where I have to progress all the way to cruise altitude before I can skip.

Does putting/transferring a new comment after 1 year reopen the blog again or is this one still closed?
If it is closed as it says above, what happens to the “wishes” and discussion in this blog?

Hmm. I’m not seeing this voting as closed, nor any indication - other than your screenshot - that it was. I’m seeing:

Edit 1: You might try refreshing the page twhen this happens. There are bugs with Discord where it shows incorrect statistical information, and this issue might fall into that category.

Edit 2: Voting for wishes usually closes only when the topic is closed. If the topic is closed, it will be by a Community Manager, usually with an explanation - for example the wish might be out of scope, or technically not feasible, or is being considered for a future WU/CU/CU, etc.
