Skipping to take-off auto crashes company plane, resulting in brutal punishments, insurance also broken

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

When hitting alt+ n to skip to take off when in career mode, the game will sometimes go straight to a “you crashed” screen and never load in. This is particularly brutal when you do it in your own company plane.

The resulting punishment is a massive hit to reputation, and insurance DOES NOT cover it even if you have the highest tier. It covered 0% even though it was supposed to cover 85%. I suspect insurance just straight up doesn’t work. This is a problem outside of company career as well, as having this happen as an employee still results in a brutal hit to reputation, often losing an entire bar.

Good thing this game has no bugs, or these brutal punishments might be a problem.

My proposed fix is to knock off this hardcore nonsense unless you can guarantee your game is completely bug free enough to not punish the player in such a hardcore way when it is not their fault.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Yes

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Intermittently, I suspect that this is caused by the sim trying to load the aircraft in and it bouncing off the pavement hard. It’s hard to tell what causes it because you never get to load in.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Play career mode for some time, always skipping steps.
  2. Note that sometimes the game crashes your plane before loading in after skipping.

I just skipped to the start of a banner tow path (I was already in the air) and the aircraft was teleported to 0 AGL and I crashed immediately. This was not my own plane though, so I respawned, but the plane was on the ground again but at full speed, so I crashed again, and then I was just stuck in a crash-spawn loop with no way out of it.

I had to restart the mission. Very frustrating.

As for the career consequences for this:
Devs please add a 30 second grace period for crashes after skipping to the next mission segment, so that career money isn’t lost. It’s brutal and the game isn’t stable enough to be souls-like.

I guess it’s safe to say that they haven’t fixed this 19 days later… it’s been happening to me in career mode only on passenger airline missions. Very unfortunate since I have S level reputation and you can imagine how much it goes down after that…

• Yes, in Career mode with my own aircraft and communication stopped working, no ability to park because I couldn’t communicate with tower, asking for taxi to parking didn’t do anything, so I tried skipping to shutdown and it just went to crashed aircraft screen. Was my first twin engine, down 3M and 2 days of grinding so not sure I’m playing for AWHILE, sadly… Too much of a grind just to have a bug take it all away in a second with no way of correcting it.

• Yes. I lost my first compnay plane during taxi. Insurance says the repair is 70k, and they are going to cover 30k. However, the repair will cost 390k, and the insurance does not cover it at all.

• Some further information indicates why skipping taxi may cause a crash. I was taxiing on Cranfield (EGTC) for RWY03. A building is in the middle of the guided taxiway. In reality, this building does exist, but the taxiway is disused due to the building. Skipping to take off may let the system follow such buggy routes and crash into obstacles.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• guided route goes into a wall

later free flight confirms a building on the taxiway

Similar issue here. Just finished a three hour light cargo employee flight. Landed and taxied to hold short, which was right in front of a building. I thought maybe it was parking too. I was then told to taxi to parking. No obvious parking, so I turned on the taxi assist. It went right into the building. Thinking that was a bad idea, and not knowing what else to do, hit alt+n to skip to engine shut down. The plane spawned twenty feet above the building and dropped to a crash. Went from A rep to low B rep. At least I wasn’t flying a company plane.

When the time skips, the plane hits the mountain and the helicopter crashes to the ground. I think if the test team played the game for 30 minutes like any other player, they would solve the problem. I hope they manage to fix these bugs before they start selling planes.

Same thing here…

Started a mission for skydive jumpers and the plane was literally in the woods. During the opening scene of the mission the right main gear on the C-172 began to oscillate and then the aircraft “crashed”. Mind you the pilot was just standing in front of the aircraft looking at it :man_facepalming:

Then I was faulted for the “crash” and it severely impacted my status.

Note: I love this sim and am thrilled with the new features / capabilities. This kind of bug is really detrimental as you are flying the missions to move forward and then there is the risk that through no fault of my own, progress / time invested is penalized via the bug.

Same. Cost 45 million in the 737 to repair the damage from Alt-N.

Just flew a 4-hour IFR flight in a Cessna through blinding snow, landed perfectly, and lost 60,000 cr. because the game HANGS Alt-N from the stupid hold point to parking (only reason I Alt-N there is to prevent false taxi ding.)

If you’re wondering why nobody is playing the game … this is it.

• Also, when you skip time in the air to the descent it acts like it is placing you in that spot with no air speed. And you drop like a rock. Very annoying, Add it deducts, you In Career mode. So, you can’t get a perfect score, just because you skipped in the air.

Also, when you skip in The air. In the 737 is screws, up your flight plan and can’t use the navigation after you skip. You have to use the heading Bug. Randally to navigate. Also, the autopilot, master turns off after you skip. Every settings should be the same as you left it before you skip time.

Same problem here - game freeze for 3 seconds on landing after 3hrs flight => stall & crash, lost 3MCr + reputation. Career mode is not playable in these conditions… please do something!!!

it can also happen when adjusting altitude or route on the efb before the flight. if i do this and load into a flight pressing Alt + N causes a mission fail to pop up with damaged to the plane ( occurs mostly in the 737 for me )
