Is there some kind of queue system to balance the load?
No idea, but possibly. My guess is the IP you see there is not actually the content delivery server itself, but some kind of load balancer that serves the data up from further inside the network. Itās possible that connected server is doing something traffic wise other than HTTPS, but from the last test where I switched the Japan VPN on/off with the sim running, got the same server, and >100MBps different speeds, I suspect something in-between is causing this. Possibly still on an MS network, but I canāt know for sure.
Iāll run some packet traces tomorrow, replicating the above, just in case I can identify a router that has high latency. It may highlight a congested link.

I decided to make the fateful decision to reinstall MSFS. I have 400mb but not getting much more than 35 in MSFS
I ran some traces earlier, both with, and without VPN, and found it utterly inconclusive.
While I didnāt get decent speeds from Japan today, but a little better than without, what I saw was very high latency for all hops, with no outliers.
It was a longshot to be honest, but Iām still of the belief that even with the same CDN server, different results can be found via a VPN. Whether that is bypassing a router to that CDN server from your own geographic location, or some filtering server side that now no longer occurs as it doesnāt see you coming from that geographic location is unclear.

I tried a VPN, made no difference in all honesty and my speeds are approx 10% of what my download speeds are capable of which seems suspicious. Like they have throttled it. Been like this for two days
this is joke MSFS teamā¦ getting 2Mbit/s on 1G link from local ISP
I can easly download from steam or other platforms with near to full speed so no wifi/bad cable and other gibberish issues

Unless your ISP has a direct 1G link to the MSFS servers, then the joke is on your ISP for promoting something they cannot deliver.

I have a perfectly fine 1GB connexion and the MS store keep downloading at 2mbits/S.

This sucks. been downloading for 2 days nonstop with 2Mbits. finally only 10 gbs are left but still my download speed wont go up more then 16Mbps.
Funny thing: It only reaches max when i browse this siteā¦
You are getting 2 Mbit/s, that is insane. I canāt go over 0,82 Mbit/s. Trying to download update for Ford Trimotor but simply I canāt wait hours just to download 1,something GB. It feels like I am in a year 2002.
My other downloads outside MSFS goes up to 120 Mbit/s.

Iām always getting 2,9 Mbits per second, sometimes it goes up to 300 for some seconds but then immediately back to 2,9

Iām still getting about 250Mbps and have been since I made the changes I posted at the beginning of this thread.
Iām based in the UK and Iām using Virgin media cable broadband. They just recently sent me a new router & upped my speed to about 500Mbps which I get when tested using one of the many online speed testers.
I have 800 down, I can test with speed test I get 800mbps down, MSFS is downloading the new world update at 5mbpsā¦ why!!!
I am in Dubai, connected to (Auto) South East Asia server with 55 ms ping and downloading the WU14 at very very slow speedā¦ about 680 MByte in 15 minutes and now itās stuck.
Are there server issues or what? I will retry tonight, pointless to keep the PC on now.
My line is a 600 MBps fiber.

Downloading the eastern europe update at 2.9Mbit. Very poor showing.

I just downloaded the new World Update today. Iām located in North Europe Denmark, and i only got 2.6 Mbps 
But at the end of the update it suddenly jumped to almodt 300 Mbps for 30 seconds, then it started downloading a new package, and then the same happened (Slow for a long time, then Fast for a little bit towards the end of the Download)
ASBO is really so hard to make a official statement on this issue?

same here, Germany, 500 Mbit, but download only with with 2 Mbit/s for days now.
