I wish I found this thread as I was beating my head against the wall :(. Also, Windows 10 needs to calibrate the touchscreen input model sometimes (search under settings). I thought I had a bad monitor when every touch I made on the actual touchscreen would show up on the primary non touchscreen monitor.
Mine are HDMI with USBC for power and touch. As mentioned you need to use the calibration tool within Windows to identify the display as touch and calibrate the points.
I know your pain and got so frustrated that I built my own using 8" 1280X1024, 50 pin industrial monitors, and driver boards from eBay.
