Incredible find community, thank you so much. Thanks to this fix I gain 15-20 fps in 787.
Its kind sad that customers had to find this “hack” to make 787 playable.
Asobo dev head: - what the f***, are you telling me that you gonna spend like 6 months writing gauges now?
cockpits dev: - well, you know what? I tried this great online JS bootcamp couple years ago…
@TELLURICO1975 the link on nexusmods about finding the FS community folder has changed.
Wanned to let you know so you can update your thread. So now it’s:
Find the Community folder as explained here: [s]Microsoft Flight Simulator Nexus - Mods and community
Microsoft Flight Simulator Nexus - Mods and community
Thank you very much for the heads-up, link changed
Interesting @NineMile1 so undocking the in-game VFR map gives it it’s own window and therefore it’s own dedicated thread and potentially is now a non-blocking event in the rendering pipeline?

I am curious to see what will happen to the core JS file in 9 days…
I just had a look over those notes. I’m really interested to see the outcome of all those updates, to avionics, aerodynamics, and performance improvements.
It’s going to be a slow 9 days…
The information about Patch #2 is amazing… I agree! Looking forward to it. The developers have addressed many of our main concerns, and improved performance.
Allow me a little off-topic: a funny gliding experiment I did today with the A320Neo: NEW VIDEO: Can the A320Neo ENGINE-OUT fly as a glider on a ridge?
thanks for the effort
If you check the DevMode console, when running the VFR map either in the main window or “popped out” you take an fps hit. On my system it’s 3 to 4 fps…
I wonder if this would help with a problem I have. I’m not too concerned about frame rate; when the video is working, I don’t have much of a problem there. Occasionally, however, my video will freeze, sometimes for a minute or two, before starting again.
For some reason, this seems to happen most often when something is happening that needs my attention: landing, taking off, mid-air emergencies, etc. It would be nice to stop that.
Did this 2nd update from Asobo incorporate this fix? I did not try the new update yet but i read the patch notes and now you can choose the refresh rate of the monitors.(thing that this fix did if i am correct?!) So, now, will it be worth using this fix or not anymore?
Cheers
Yea, but is it still possible to tune the refreshrate by editing the value of “frameCount % x”?
Doing some tests… it’s probably possible but useless at this point.
If this mod will get fixed I think we will be able to squeeze some more FPS anyway: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/highonsnow-js-fix-15-19-fps-improvement-on-airliners-targetting-specific-instruments/252551
Please let us know the results if possible.
cheers
This FPS fix with the new update will bring many problems to the game, I had it and was experiencing a lot of issues and when deleted it it fixed everything
The code has to be updated for sure, as the original JS file is changed a lot with the patch
Let us know when you receive your 3080 card. It will be cool to see what you’re able to do with it. Those are getting great reviews.
