Small JS config file mod to gain 10/15+ FPS in airliners and glass cockpit planes

Thank u very much :slight_smile:

bro your doing it right just add in

     if (quality == Quality.high) {
            if ((this.frameCount % 3) != 0) {
                return false;
            }
        }

u should be fine

yep so overwrite all of that with the new code, or just add in the smaller bit and decide what you want. 165 / 3 will be fine, 55hz screens, bit of a flicker for realism :wink:

Thanks.

This needs to be added as a graphics option in future, sims like DCS world have it for how often the screens update for obvious performance reasons.

Thats all?

yes bro ur doing it right now try it and then think of it as a patch lol

Can you use floats / fractions as multipliers? :slight_smile:

trying this now

Haha TY, Going to test it out. Lets see

it does magic brah

At this rate the update is just going to be using everyone’s edits / mods for the game :slight_smile: jk

I’ve gone from 30fps to 38fps.. not a bad increase for a single copy\paste exercise.

Thank you very much.

Yes but people rightly think since it has Microsoft in its name that there would have been Microsoft Engineers checking the software and using their expertise of the OS to help make the Simulator as efficient as possible. As can be seen from this JS Config file they have not used the most efficient way, which is not acceptable.

What?!

I was just pointing out the fact that MS developing the game and operational system, doesn’t mean everything will work together flawlessly.

Different hardware will demand different settings. If you have a PC you will have to test things around. Consoles have a closed environment. Hence why developers can optimize things a lot.

From 35 to 42fps for me

(Cockpit)

(Outside)

Clear skies are at 48+fps

Edit: CTD after 2 minuses

Tested 3.5 right now and it’s working!

Of course, but floating point calculations are slower than integers.

Can we get the refresh rate of the monitor?

divideValue = refreshRate / 60;
if ((this.frameCount % divideValue ) != 0) {
    return false;
}

Like this we could set it for everyone to 60hz as a fix.

How much more slower though? Maybe for 60hz displays it is good to set monitor refresh rate to 120Hz and then just divide by 2.

Is the display in the upper left corner..a special one. In developer mode..I got this gigantic display …is there a setting for it?
Thanks
