Welcome to the 236th flight in Gunpilot’s new SHORTER series of Challenging flights, The longest running event series in MSFS2020/24 multiplayer flights.
Flight Details:
The Discus pilots will launch into the 72‑nautical‑mile Alpine challenge like a squadron of enlightened sky‑yogis who accidentally signed up for an extreme‑sports retreat. ENYA will float through their cockpits like a benevolent Celtic guardian angel, turning even the pre‑start tow into something that feels like a guided meditation for overconfident aviators. The overcast sky will hang low and moody, the drizzle will patter gently on the canopies, and every pilot will pretend they’re “one with the air” while secretly eyeing each other like, Mate, I’m absolutely going to smoke you on the altitude climb. The first pinpoint landing challenge will immediately set the tone: half the field will grease it like professionals, the other half will arrive with the grace of a shopping trolley on a hill, all while ENYA whispers, “Sail away…” as if she’s narrating their questionable decisions.
As they glide deeper into the Alps, the serenity will be so thick you could spread it on toast — right up until someone decides to fly under a bridge with the confidence of a man who’s watched exactly one YouTube tutorial. Aerobatics will erupt spontaneously: elegant loops, wobbly wingovers, and at least one manoeuvre that will later be described as “experimental” in the debrief. Navigation tasks will inspire philosophical radio calls like, “Is that the right valley?” followed by, “Well… it’s a valley.” The race to reach the designated altitude will turn into a silent, passive‑aggressive climb‑off, with pilots pretending they’re not competing while absolutely competing. And through it all, ENYA will keep the mood so soothing that even near‑misses will feel like part of a wellness retreat. By the final landing zone, the bragging rights will be outrageous, the laughter unstoppable, and the whole flight will feel like the world’s most relaxing adrenaline rush — a floating contradiction wrapped in drizzle, mountains, and Celtic ambience.
*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link Discord) to be taken there. Load this file directly into the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 directory on your PC in the PRESETS folder which is located within the WEATHER folder in the aforementioned MSFS2024 directory .
