[Solved] All my planes fly north with auto pilot engaged

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Hello! All my planes with autopilot engaged and set to NAV with a filed flight path flies north. They all totally ignore the flight path and now simply fly north!. I have over 200 hrs logged on this sim and was thoroughly enjoying the experience when all of a sudden a slew of things went wrong. This is just the most maddening of them all! Does anyone have a solution? Thanks you.

Can you upload a screenshot? Since the HDG bug defaults to 360°, it looks like you are in HDG mode.

What else went wrong?

Make sure NAV mode is set to GPS and not NAV.

When setting up a flight by picking a departure airport, a arrival airport in IFR low or high altitude, a runway approach, and then start my flight there is a waypoint that goes off course for thousands of miles! It, however, does not happen when I set up a VFR (Direct-GPS). Also ground control has also disappeared!

I am well schooled in the settings unless something I’m not aware about has changed with all of the planes.

You must be doing something wrong since the rest of us do not have this problem.

About 3 times this past week during my world tour I have a ILS route set and just when the plane gets into the airport approach it turns way off course and starts flying off to the wild blue yonder.

I kill the AP, NAV, ALT, etc and manually fly into the airport. Fortunately I have the weather set for clear for sightseeing so I don’t have to land blind in bad weather or in the dark.

I have not reported it.

I can fly manually just fine. Also heading mode works fine as well. It’s just the GPS/NAV that not working.

There’s a lot of these type of posts around. I’ve had it myself too. I also had the flightplan suddenly change on the screen in the airplane.

There’s still some weird bugs around.

But this flying north thing is new to me. Whatever I fly usually just starts banking off course.

@Djmabq Perhaps try to turn the heading knob and see if the plane reacts?

I did have the FlyByWire A320 and the FSUIPC7 installed just recently but have since uninstalled both of them. I have a feeling one or both messed with my sim so I conducted a repair and a reset of the game. No change! I’m about to uninstall and reinstall the game!

Suggest to empty or rename your community folder first.

Reinstalling MSFS is a last resort solution IMO.

community folder is no longer there. Oh1 It’s empty!

A screenshot might help with troubleshooting.

What do you want to see?

The instrument panel so we can see e.g. the AP modes, GPS track etc.

Since it happens to all the planes, sounds like the command to get into NAV mode is just not coming through and they stay in heading mode. I don’t know what FSUIPC7 did in your system, but it might have been inputting conflicting commands? Are you sure it’s gone? It’s all a bit vague, but I would also consider conflicting controllers. Perhaps unbind some stuff or reset them. Deleting content.xml (in LocalCache) makes sure there’s no more references to stuff that was installed (it gets recreated).

I am climbing to 30000, with autopilot set to HDG set exactly on the flight path but if I switch to LNAV it will head north.

that’s why I am considering the uninstall/reinstall because I don’t know what happened. You know my Cessna Longitude never flew well either. It always flies at a 25% bank no matter what direction I turn.

The FSUIPC7 is a plug in I thought I needed for all the functions to work on the flybywire A320. I’ve used it before only on FSX.

Well… bizarre…

I’m with @PZL104, that a reinstall is last resort… but maybe this is last resort.

On the other hand, a banking Cessna… sounds like a controller issue. Try this: pull out the controller you have and then try the AP (Z on the keyboard).
