(SOLVED) My terrible (so far) experience with Fenix A320

Hi. If you have a little bit time, please see my following video, in which you can see all the issues together (EFB dark into the cockpit, throttles issue, MAP NOT AVAIL on ND, low pressure after engines start and so on).
You will understand why it’s impossible for me to fly with this aircraft.
Anyway Fenix staff is working on it.

When I will be able to fly with Fenix A320, I will let you know. I never write that I fly smooth with this aircraft. I wrote that I fly smooth with CRJ, FBW and PMDG, with my PC specs. And I confirm that.

Hi. In case of problems with Google Drive, I attach the Mega link too:

Don´t worry Fenix has such an extreme attention to detail they will patch any of these problems soon
Fenix let nothing “just slip” or “getting ignored forever”. Legends say that a few of the development core team have even become half human and half Airbus during the last alpha phase…

But we share a fate and a suffering filthy casuals who are still looking for the easy-mode in Dark Souls 4 and non-perfectionists will never feel. For me the PMDG 737 has become unflyable because of this texture and 3D-modelling bug on the pilot´s footrest:

Maybe the day will come and these two airliners will be patched to absolute perfection!
We will see how long it takes until this glorious day will come.

What exactly is the problem with low pressure after engines start?
Is it a problem with the air conditioning or cabin pressurization system, hydraulics pressure, pneumatics pressure?
You should write Fenix a nice mail and I am sure they will love to fix such little issues that slipped during beta testing but get noticed sooner or later by the thousands of enthusiastic Airbus test-pilots out there

Really? A minor modeling glitch with some misaligned screws on a footrest you can’t even see unless you bend over in the VC and zoom in on the floor, makes the airplane “unflyable”?

Hi. The engines low pressure is hydraulic issue.
I opened a ticket 4 days ago.
Actually I’m in a thread on Discord with Aamir and an his technician. I sent them log files, debugger results and so on. It seems that it is very hard to solve these issues.

never thought of that,so i did BINGO down loaded.many thanks for your help.

Stay strong, the plane is really worth it.

It’s subjective… I bought the aircraft, but I don’t think it’s worth it. The functions and features that I really use, I can already use from the FBW A32NX. The unique features that Fenix has, are the ones that I don’t care or use at all. So to me, it’s not worth it.

I’m not arguing that it’s not worth it in general. But we all use aircraft differently. If you’re the ones who likes playing around with the circuit breakers and do failure management and have fun with it. Then yeah, it’s definitely worth it. But that’s a feature that I don’t use and probably never use, so to me what’s the point for me to pay for something that I’ll never use.

Hi. The Fenix staff solved all my issues (EFB, throttles, message on ND, spoilers and so on). They sent me 3 files to replace in the folder C:\ProgramFiles\FenixSimA320\deps. They told me that that my issues depend on my local settings, probably I had en_US Windows language with comma decimal separator…

I realized, that duo to the fenix, I learn so much about the normal procedures that are not yet possible with the FBW. Like radial in direct to and radial abeam or the sec flight plan. Having said that, I would really like the neo and of course the FBW crew is just amazing.

Actually setting up the INIT page is more detailed in Fenix. As much as I love the FBW somehow as a lover of hand flying the Fenix flight behaviour feels more realistic to me

Yeapp.. I agree with all your points and @xMSVFx points as well. I also learned about the calculation for the V1, Vr, V2, as well as entering the ZFW and ZFWCG stuff that needs to be done manually after calculating it. But when you fly 2-3x a day, it does get overwhelming having to do that so many times. And having a quick quality of life feature where you can just double click on the buttons to prefill them saves a lot of time and made us realise of the things that we take for granted.

Again, different people want different things in a simulation. Fenix is great, I’m not denying that. But to me it has too much of things that I won’t ever use, and while my first (and only) flight were successful and I had fun flying it. I just can’t justify why I paid for an aircraft where the experience is 95% the same for me as what I get from FBW A32NX. And that’s not a critic towards Fenix in any way. They’ve done a wonderful job and it’s an amazing aircraft. It’s just personally, I can’t justify that the price is worth with what I get vs what I paid for.

What an appalling regressive policy. This is literally the ONLY add-on so far that I have come across that restricts to one physical machine (not even one IP address!), and does not even provide the customer with a convenient means of deactivating/reactivating themselves! What is this, 1992?

I installed initially on my laptop, uninstalled and installed on my desktop (same network, same IP address), and now I find I have no functional version whatsoever. You treat your customers like thieves. Well I handed over £50 and I have no working product, so WHO is the thief?

Never mind, I’ll try their Discord. Except no I won’t, because to be allowed to post in the Discord server you first have to provide your phone number and password! Geez, I’m surprised they didnt ask for my credit card details as well. What a shockingly poor attitude towards their customers. I think I’ll be requesting a refund on the grounds that I do not have a working product or seemingly any way of getting one (I’ve already messaged support, but no answer of course).

Simply disgusting. I own countless add-ons from other companies from PMDG, through Milviz to Just Flight and have had nothing but a positive experience. I’ve never encountered anything like this level of hostility and mistrust except from this company.

I think the EFB have an app to calculate all with a few clicks, didn’t take more than 2 minutes to fill all necessary info in the fmc

I am disappointed in Fenix because they don’t have a plan in Iran Air color yet! Other than that, I like the plane, but I wouldn’t have bought it if I knew they are biased against some countries and don’t have any representation of them despite the fact that some airlines are represented with multiple color schemes!

@Karvala21 (and other interested parties)

I suspect that the restrictions regarding licences are put in place to protect their product from piracy.
I don’t know of a simple method to achieve this that doesn’t bring some associated inconvience to the end user.

With that being said, I am led to believe that on the dashboard, after logging in to the Fenix website, it is now possible to re-activate a licence that will allow the aircraft to be re-installed onto a PC/laptop of choice. Here is a screenshot of the new settings page on their website:

In more general terms, frustration about an issue is one thing, but I would urge you to change some of your previous two posts to mitigate the accusation that perhaps Fenix is “thieving its customers”.

(It is also possible, on the same page, to “activate” your discord account that enables posting on their server. When I did this I had no need to enter any other information like telephone number to be able to post on their discord. I also had access to the “customer only” area on that server.)

@tamalien

First of all, thanks for your reply and the information about the updated settings options on the website. This did not seem to work at first but I believe that is a Chrome issue, and using another browser (Edge) got it to work fine and reset it. That’s certainly an improvement.

On the previous posts: yes and no. I have removed the “outright thievery” comment as I agree that was not justifiable even in the circumstances, so that’s fair enough. I have not, and will not, change the previous post which juxtaposes the uses of DRM to prevent customers from stealing, with the fact that at the time of posting they had my money but I did not have a usable product precisely because of the same DRM, and simply asks who is the thief? That’s a perfectly legitimate question in the circumstances and I stand by it.

On the wider point: nobody wants to see someone’s work stolen, so I understand the decision to use DRM, even if many other companies are choosing not to. But a higher priority than preventing the theft of your work is to ensure that you’re not stopping legitimate paying customers from accessing what they’ve paid for, otherwise that makes you no better than the thieves. Fenix have got the balance wrong here. I’m similarly unconvinced by the excuse that this is a work in progress and as soon as the team in Ukraine is up and running again the activation will be extended to three machines. This is one small setting; if the company is capable of producing an extraordinarily detailed simulation of a complex aircraft, I’m quite sure they’re capable of allowing three machine activations instead of one. To offer that excuse is treating your customers like idiots.

It’s a terrible shame, because it’s a marvellous product, albeit with a terrible lack of documentation, and even on my rather ageing system seems to run fairly well, but instead of talking about that, I end up having to talk about DRM and poor customer service. Might be time for customer service 101 at Fenix.

Excellent - your fantastic efforts will bring that Airbus one step closer to 101% PERFECTION! I personally would not be able to find well-hidden airplane system simulation bugs because I am no real pilot and therefore cannot tell how a real Airbus system should behave in reality this or that situation or condition. (That´s why I only send tickets related to pure visual graphics stuff).

Probably one or another random minor bug will be found be real simming professionals in the oncoming weeks but I am convinced the fantastic Fenix team will take care about all these bugs.
