So, I went straight to the controls configurations, first thing.
There are barely any aircraft listed here to choose from. For example, the C172 isn’t even here nor the C152, let alone all the Aviator edition aircraft.
I only see 18 aircraft.
What gives? Do I need to download all the aircraft that the sim includes?

I’d gotten an in-game notification that I needed to restart the sim to gain access to my 2020 aircraft and I thought, perhaps, this was part of the issue.
I quit and restarted the sim and now I am going through the same first time loading screen (download progress) and progress bar as if I hadn’t already fully loaded the sim.
Fun times!
Same thing. i’m about 20 minutes ahead of you in restarting. still at 10% lmao
I figured “oh it’ll be all loaded up in the RAM and it’ll load like in 5 minutes” but nooooooooo

Controls config kinda’ overwhelming! I left it at the default C172 and left to plan a short hop. Well that’s been spinning for a while now so maybe no flying of any kind yet LOL! I need to read through the support article on controllers and try to get my head around all the new stuff.

This really does surprise me. I can’t believe I’m going through the whole activating packages thing and whatnot. I noted, too, it asked me for network permissions again.
Are the permissions for the directory or file structure for the new sim not set correctly and it’s unable to write?
This is really weird.
I’m on an Xbox Series X and all of my aircraft seem to be there in my hanger. Unfortunately, I have to work for a few more hours so can’t fly (yet)…
I got one better on you. Finally got in, set up my avatar and all my settings (like turning off all the assists) loaded my plane, went to start a quick free flight to make sure my yoke and rudder peddles work and set up my other controls……
the computer froze solid. Had to do a hard reboot.
And now starting the whole process again. Sigh.
Also does anyhow now how to the get the delux items like the steam gauge 172? I can see it I my library but it will not let me download it, fluid’s gives me the option to go to the marketplace which doesn’t work.
Ha! And now my power went out!

Real question is why is the “activation” screen taking so long??? If it takes 30min to load a sim that’s not was advertised at all….
Anyone who did the tech alpha what were the average load times?
I think we will have to download the higher than Standard edition packages, although I was not successful in doing so on Series X, they could be seen as not downloaded. Just one of many things I’m sorting through. Time for lunch!
how did you even finish the game wtf, i directly started at launch 17.00, i have an very fast system and a fibre connection, and im still at 10% “Activating Package”
I went to go work some and eat lunch and came back to my sim up and running. After getting through initial setup, I only saw a handful of aircraft. I messed around a bit, quit the sim and restarted, now back at the “6% - Loading language …” point.
Are we REALLY going to do this nonsense with every single load of the sim? Please tell me this is some developer’s idea of a Kafka-esque joke.
And there is another Add On Support package to install external to 2024. It just finished downloading. Maybe that will provide some missing stuff?

Series X. I will go back in 2024 and see if I can get the additional aircraft onboard. I bought the premium deluxe version.
They were crazy fast — essentially a non-issue.
Yeah there’s nothing like that on PC. But I swear if they think we’re going to do this hour-long load process with “Langauge”, “Activating Packages” etc. every time we load the sim, they must be on crack. I certainly hope this is a server configuration thing on the MS side of the house.
I bought the Aviators Edition and I have ONE aircraft installed. It’s not even one I care about. No option to install all the upgrade packages, so I’ll try again tomorrow. I’m currently stuck on exiting the sim…it froze when clicking Quit to Desktop.
