Note:- Not sure if this is the right section of the forums for this but here goes.
Ok for the past week straight I have been messing around with AI Aircraft and Flightplans.
I first used the World of AI Packages and replaced FS9 Aircraft with FSX Aircraft models so they would work. I had done Ryanair, British Airways and Emirates.
First thing I noticed was the game loads only one model with one texture. Therefore it wouldnt load an Emirates A380 and a BA A380 at EGLL at the same time. So made second copies of the files and renamed them for each airline.
Thus I had one folder for Emirates and one for BA. I renamed the MDL’s to say UAEA380 or BAA380 as well as the air files and pointed the aircraft.cfg’s at those and removed all other Fltsim.x references in the aircraft.cfg so each aircraft.cfg had only the fltsim.0 for the respective airline.
This worked I had a BA and Emirates A380 show up at EGLL. So I did it for all the Airlines I had done.
Next problem was a little different I went and sat above the tower at OMDB with ATC running. I heard an Emirates flight request Pushback clearance and it was approved, suddenly followed by 4 more within less than a couple of minutes. I had 5 Aircraft all taxiing at the same time. It was causing havoc on the taxiway.
So I opened up the BGL with AIFP and went to Timetable and pulled up OMDB and I noticed there were five aircraft all going to the same destination all within a minute of each other. Each was a different flightplan though. Then I noticed that each one was for a different day of the week and set to repeat on 24hr. So I then opened up the MSFS AirTraffic.bgl and had a look at that. Everything was set to Weekly. There I had my answer and my next adventure began. Did I have a Traffic Program that uses Weekly Flights. I reinstalled UTLive and opened up the BGL and yup that uses Weekly not Daily Flights and all the aircraft MDL’s are MDLXMDLH so I am now in the process of converting everthing over, however some of the textures are really poor so those aircraft and or textures will need to be upgraded.
Conclusion
Use only Weekly Flightplans not daily to avoid MSFS loading in every flight for the week at once. I.e make sure S,M,T,W,T,F,S are all ticked in the flightplan not just one day for that flightplan.
To have different liveries show up for a particular aircraft model you need multiple copies of that aircraft with its own respective livery i.e. One folder named British Airways A380 and another named Emirates A380. So in my Community folder I have a base folder for each aircraft type I have converted e.g A380, 772 etc. Inside those folders I have SimObject/Airplanes as per normal then folders for each livery ex British Airways, Emirates etc etc etc.
Yes its a lot of work but so far the only way I have found to get multiple Liveries for a particular Aircraft type to show up and not have 2 to 7 aircraft all taxiing going to the same destination at the same time.
Hope this helps some of you working with Flightplans and AI Aircraft.
EDIT you could also do it by having multiple model folders for and aircraft type with multiple texture folders. i.e. model.BA model.UAE etc etc but you still need to rename each mdl file respectively or it wont work…
