Sound Altered for other apps when MSFS 2024 is running

I have this sound issue I can’t figure out… Whenever the game is running it makes other apps sound tinny… youtube, Netflix, etc. It completely changes the sound quality. When I quit MSFS 2024 the sound goes back to normal for other apps. This happens even when I mute MSFS 2024 (volume mixer, or disable sound in MSFS 2024 settings).

I’ve disabled other devices from the Control Panel > Sound page. This fixed this issue or something similar to it for 2020, but not for this. Though maybe I’m confusing that with another issue…

Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Yea, just checked, all drivers are up to date

Same problem for me. I even disabled the headset feature for my bluetooth headphones.

Same issue for me too.

I have the same problem. Only it completely mutes the sounds of other apps; BATC and music playing in my browser. It seems to be related to the sound settings in MSFS where you can choose the input device. Although, I haven’t figured out a fix yet.

I forgot to add that the sound from the music on the browser stops playing during the loading video. In my case when it gets to the Asobo logo. How appropriate!

If you’re using BT speakers, try disabling Bluetooth telephony on that device.

Great!! It worked with one small caveat,you have to disconnect the bluetooth headphones and then reconnect them other wise a sound on/off will happen in a cyclic fashion…
