if you get a response from them I would love to know if it works, this is starting to really bother me!
Can confirm that this works.
I was also using a different audio output (for streaming purposes). While not ideal, I do have both UI sounds and menu music back, and in-game audio when using Spacial Sound.
The issue probably has to do with VR using a different audio output?
Hopefully theyâre aware and do we get a fix with the next world update.
Yes, you are correct. I stumbled across this exact same âfixâ and I no longer have a sound problem. Apparently the update changed a setting in Windows 10, as described above. Go to Settings, System, Sound, Advanced Sound options (app volume device preferences), Microsoft Flight Simulator and you may have to change speakers to realtek (even if thatâs not what you are using), and device to default. This fixed my sound problem instantly.
works great! Just need to do it everytime I launch the game
Yes I have a feeling itâs very much to do with the VR side of things.
I filed a bug report and it has been taken internally now, so fingers crossed!
Oculus Rift. The sound ONLY goes off when I click on VR mode?
@ExceededBull193, youâll have to check the VR Section as I donât (and wonât) have VR.
Hey, moin moin,
my Problem, in the Menuâs the Sound is normal. But if i start a Flight (Click on Fly), Loading with musicâŠ, and then there is no Sound from Weather or Engine or anything else. Only Menu Sounds there when on ESC Menu. In Options there is sound full.
Often the Ingame Menu with Setting for weather, fuel and co⊠is not thereâŠ
If I crash the bottom nothing happen⊠If i landed and shutdown the airplane, nothing happend.
Sorry for Bad English.
Donât know if this helps anyone. But this same exact thing happened to me where I lost cockpit, engine sounds but could hear music and menu. For me it was the fly by wire neo mod I was using. Something happened with the files in the community folder. So I deleted it and loaded game and it works fine. Then I redownloaded the flyby wire and still works fine.
This dude is the genius right here. I donât know why or how but my MSFS Volume knob was set to Zero. Freaking crazy with these random things occurring for no reason.
No luck for me. Still no sound
Hello

and it Works
Thank You

I have encountered this problem on two occasions over the past month. Both showed the sound icon in the windows 11 task bar with an âxâ beside it. I also found that aa volume setting in Windows sound settings was set to zero; on another occasion a (mixer?) slider setting was at â96â. Moving it to â100â fixed the problem. Why? I do not know. Maybe switching msfs between full screen and windowed mode had something to do with this.
Ok guys I have been trying for weeks to get aircraft engine sounds working again in msfs2020 I know all my computer settings were ok as I have been flying another Sim we I to h no problems at all. Tonight I came across this fix and with nothing to loose I did what has been suggested, I am a happy happy, person now âI HAVE SOUNDâ again!!!
Iâve lost sound twice and both times I went from fullscreen to windowed mode so I could minimize the sim a second. When I stay in fullscreen this doesnât usually happen.
I solved this issue by resetting my TV! Yes, reset the TV, not the Xbox. I have a Samsung TV QLED, and I reset it by holding the power button on the remote for at least 10 seconds , while the tv powers off and back on by itself.
Just installed MSFS and was also upset having no sound.
Resolved by setting 'Active Spatial sound" to ON
Didnât resolve it for me unfortunately.
2 years later, this happens for perhaps 1 in 10 sessions for me. When it does, the âfixâ posted above works, but this shouldnât detract from the fact that this is a bug. My sound settings were 100% correct before doing the reset settings dance. There is no logical reason why this reset of sound settings should be needed
