Sound output settings reset after restarting game

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Changes made to either Main Device Output Selection and Communication Output Selection do not persist after exiting and restarting the game. Upon starting the game they are always back to “System’s Default device”

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Click Settings gear icon
  2. Click Sound
  3. Change Main Device Output Selection and Communication Output Selection to choices other than “System’s default device”
  4. Click “Save and Back”
  5. Exit the game
  6. Restart the game
  7. Go back to sound settings and observe the output selections

if I change the audio output when I restart the sim, it returns to default.
The problem has existed since the beginning, before it was more or less random since the SU2 it always returns by default.

Hi!

Each time I start SU2 beta, I get this:

However, every time I exit SU2 beta, I leave it like this:

Since SU2 beta, it forgets my preferences and resets my sound devices every time. Any ideas why?

I’ve had this problem since the release of the game.
Though it seems like it sometimes remembers the settings, but sometimes does not.

Is everyone who has this problem on Steam version ?

Hi, yes I am using the Steam version of MSFS 2024.

Prior to SU2 Beta, I would sometimes experience this problem (maybe 1 in 8 times?). But since SU2 Beta it happens every time.

Yes same here, on Steam version.

My workaround is to set the output to my headphones in Windows sound mixer options. It sticks fine then.

I asked someone who is on the xbox version to change the audio settings to close the sim and reopen and these audio settings are well saved.
To be confirmed, but it’s in the sense that the problem is only on the Steam version.
