I was hoping to use spacedesk and a 10" tablet for various things but as far as I can see as soon as windows/spacedesk extends your display you can’t have gsync as the tablet obviously doesn’t do it. Am I missing something? I don’t need gsync on the tablet for maps and things but I do want it as usual on my primary display.
Hi!
GSync is active as long as your main screen is in focus. When you click on your tablet the main screen loses the focus and GSyng is disabled. When you click on your mainscreen again, it is back in focus and GSync is active again. Don’t know, if there is any solution to keep GSync active all the time.
You can try the option for “Fullscreen and windowed programs” in the nvidia control panel Gsync settings.
Not sure if it will help tho…
I don’t mind if gsync isn’t active on the tablet as it will be used for addon windows. However the primary for the sim needs gsync and the gsync sign top right which can be enabled via nvidia control panel is not there. I’ll try again as maybe that was going away for another reason. I think the extended display is disabling gsync entirely though.
It works for me the way I described it. I don’t use spacedesk. Just Windows with the Nvidia Control Panel.
Even if I use two GSync monitors, Gsync is only active on the primary one and only when the primary one is in focus.
Thanks. I think spacedesk maybe doesn’t work the same as it extends in the windows interface not the nvidia one. Which would mean I can’t use it the way it extends. I had hoped to put things like Little NavMap and Pilot2ATC on it. Nothing at all coming up on their forums about gsync.
By the way: Why spacedesk? I‘m using LittleNavmaps on a second screen which is the Windows extended desktop. I just have to make shure, that for GSync the primary display is in focus. Means, after klicking and working in LittleNavmaps, I have to klick one time on the primary display to reactivate GSync.
With the latest nvidia driver G-sync is always active even when i click on other applications ( 2nd monitor).
The 2nd screen is a 10" tablet. That was the plan anyway. Spacedesk was recommended. It takes up less room on a small desk. If it won’t work I might have to use a laptop which could fit Infront below the primary monitor.
I see. I‘m using a 13.3 inch portable monitor. I think that‘s cheaper and easier to handle. There are also smaller ones with or without touch.
I’ll look into that thanks.
I want to tell you my experiences, because I found a solution: If you want to reduce your FPS via Vsync to 30 FPS and want to use some PAD’s as a Monitor via Spacedesk you have to look at your Frequency at your Main Monitor. I tested it with 60MHz. But my Monitor can work with also 165 MHz - but this don’t work with the Vsync Settings in the MSFS. Vsync only works with 60MHz. But every time I turned on my PAD’s with Spacedesk as an additional Monitor the Spacedesk Software turned my main Monitor to 165 MHz. Only as I saved my config with the PAD’S in Spacedek @60MHz then it was saved an the next time I started my additional Monitor (PAD’S) they didn’t change the frequency anymore. So it’s possible to reduce the FPS even the Spacedisk Monitors are available. That brought a very stable configuration to my screen without any stutterings and ULTRA setting in my MSFS! Maybe it helps others!
