SPAD. NeXt and FSUIPC 7 seem to be causing CTDs

It works thank you

Thanks,

FYI, on my side I am getting an instant CTD even if I attempt these methods.

  1. Aircraft on runway, engine running
  2. Start FSUIPC
  3. Connect FSUIPC
  4. CTD

I looked into the crash dump for MSFS, and this only records an access violation (null pointer exception).

When I use simconnect through my C# or Python applications there is no CTD at all. I can load FSUIPC without issue, but once my ACARS program start communicating, it CTD’s the sim.

Use SomConect and the game crashes every time you start Spad.next.

Fsuipc 7 it’s been years since I use it the problem is not there for me

Temporary solution: FYI: FSUIPC might be incompatible with SU9 right now - FSUIPC7 MSFS - The simFlight Network Forums

Tried that work around. I’m getting CTD as soon as I connect FSUIPC even when loaded into the cockpit on the runway with engines running still.

I own FSUIPC7, but have never installed it on this OS. Spad.Next causes the sim to crash whether I start it before or after starting the sim. I tried uninstalling the Spad LVAR bridge.

Downloaded the demo of Lorby’s AxisandOhs, and it works fine. I prefer Spad, so I’ll just use AAO until Spad works again. AAO was pretty cheap, but to me it’s learning curve is much higher than Spad.

So you wanted to be a flight simmer?

There are at least 4 circulating versions of simconnect.
1)FSX RTM
2)FSX SP1
3)FSX Acceleration X-Pack
4)MSFS

The first three you can get here, Download Simconnect | FsPassengers
The MSFS version, is installed when you enter Dev mode and install the SDK from the dev toolbar.

It seems that also the RSG plugin causes a CTD on launching the sim. See here:

I hope the simconnect bug gets fixed during the SU9 beta. It’s what keeping me from running it and providing any other feedback.

Well, I count on this. I wouldn’t want to be a CM, or Mod when SU9 was released with this big fail!
It seems that they changed something in SimConnect without a heads up to the 3rd parties, so they are in limbo here…

Doesn’t work for me. I use RSG Device Interface, which uses SimConnect. No workaround for that, I think.

I see this info on Discord. I’ll just add it here for what it’s worth:
ā€œApparently Its an Issue with requesting data from simconnect when in the Menu, so you need to know when you can and can not request the data.ā€

Not sure it is only that. Mine crashes in-menu or in-flight as soon as FSUIPC is connected

Well i just spend literally the whole day reinstalling lol. And I’m downloading at 20-40 MBs :man_facepalming:t5:

Thanks this solved the crashing issue for me.

Hi - sorry I don’t have the beta because SPAD is not usable at the moment.

However, according to their Discord, apparently SPAD.neXt are saying they will not modify SPAD for SU9 as Asobo have not informed them or documented any changes they may have made to simconnect.

So it’s really really in Asobo’s court as dev here. I am hopeful this will get sorted soon, but as FSUPIC doesn’t seem to be working as it did before either, this has to be a larger simconnect problem.

Awaiting a hotfix that fixes this before I commit. Don’t want to go through the nightmare some of you have done here.

It is. I was just saying that if Asobo, for some reason, would decide not to fix this issue in time for the SU9 release, I’m positive that the devs of FSUIPC, SPAD.next and whatever else is affected (most SimConnect applications still seem to work fine, the driver software for my yoke has no issues running with SU9 without crashing it), would find and implement workarounds instead of letting their products die, because all their users would immediately migrate to alternative products that don’t have the same issue (at least two such products have already been mentioned in this thread).

Of course at this point they’re saying they can’t do anything about it. And it makes sense that they refuse to invest time in a workaround while we’re all still pretty sure that Asobo will become aware of the problem and fix it in time. But if Asobo lets us down, those devs will step up.

RSG has given a similar comment.

And

Not sure if this is true. I see that multiple apps that use SimConnect are crashing.

for me all apps with SimConnect working fine, just the apps use FSUIPC has problems, like SLC, AirTool, STK etc.

It is true for my system.
FSUIPC caused CTDs.
CLS2Sim, the FSEconomy SimConnect client, and Little Navmap did not cause crashes.
