Spawning in to a plane crash (plane on top of building) causes reputation hit

Not sure if a bug specifically, but spawning in to a plane crash (plane placed on top of building) causes a reputation hit. Evidently you shouldn’t spawn into buildings at all, but in case that happens it seems unfair to penalize the player.

Moved to User Support Hub > User Interface & Activities and added appropriate tag.

I too have suffered massive reputation damage due to this. My only understanding is that while in the hanger before you start the mission, wait for assets to load, as I believe if you go to fast it spawns the plane while still trying to download assets causing an issue before you even enter your aircraft.

This just happened to me, too. Ridiculous. The game spawned me into a crashed plane, then threw an error, and then docked me a bunch of reputation. This needs to be fixed ASAP or career mode is going to be basically unplayable.

I had the same issue happen to me. The career mode is fully unplayable at this rate. Sure you can “Skip” sections of the flight, but I’m getting docked rep points for “Failure to announce before moving into taxiway” and plane crashes..WHEN I’M SITTING STILL. It had me taxi into a parking spot and counted as a plane crash because the building disappeared..and trees loaded in its place. Half my rep on a level gone over this bug happening. God forbid if it was my own plane in career the money would be lost and stuck grinding 1k payout flights for hours again.

This needs to be fixed. My friend cant play career mode at all because of this bug. No matter what, its just broken. Changing airports, even uninstalling and restarting didnt help.

how can the parking spot on top the building?LoL

I’m extremely frustrated by a crash I experienced immediately upon spawning in the new beta. This crash resulted in the destruction of my Cessna Skyhawks, incurring hundreds of thousands in repair costs, along with severe reputation damage. The prospect of grinding through starter missions again, only to risk another such costly incident, is unacceptable. Due to this significant instability and financial setback, I’m uninstalling the game on Xbox.

Spawned in a LAKE.
Rep cut in HALF.

I’m experiencing significant difficulties with the flight simulator. Specifically, I’m encountering two primary issues: either the aircraft is being unexpectedly destroyed during loading, or the display panels are failing mid-flight, necessitating either an instrument-only landing or mission termination. This is proving to be highly frustrating.

Getting real tired of spawing in and a crash/fail happening. Resulting in a huge reputation loss.

C’mon Asobo!
I know this is not 2020 but I’ve never had spawn in crashes before.

Is there NO way to program in something like “IF CRASH happens under 30 seconds of launching or before STARTUP mission it does not apply any penalties”?

This has just happened to me as well, level loads up, i’m inside the building and plane is on the roof..

Having not played MSFS since the early 90’s I thought I’d try it again as there’s now a career mode. I played for a while with the free version on Xbox ultimate before deciding to invest in the aviation version, now I’m starting to regret my investment in my entertainment.

It wasn’t doing this before I bought the upgraded version.

It’s now almost July 2025 and the problem is still ongoing. I’d call it a joke but it isn’t funny. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Please believe me when I say that I understand that many people are attracted to FS2024 specifically to play in career mode.

Help me understand why so many who encounter problems with career mode quit using the sim, rather than simply enjoy free flight while we wait for career mode to fulfill its promise.

There’s so much to see and do in both VFR and IFR flight regimes.

I haven’t even touched career mode yet, because I knew it would be fraught with problems.
I believe they’ll fix those, but for now I’m happy just flying.
