Speed mods

Some of the default aircraft don’t achieve realistic cruise speeds. Either improve this and/or program speed mods.

Which ones?

One example is the A36, Bonanza. No matter what I do with the throttle, prop and mixture , I can’t get the plane to get above around 150 knots no matter what altitude I’m at.

Are you aware of the difference between Indicated Airspeed (what the instruments display) and True Airspeed (how fast the aircraft is moving)?

Yes. I have a pilots license. Theoretically, if I didn’t know the difference, it shouldn’t matter. In real life, there’s no so to speak governor on an aircraft engine. In real life, I can theoretically get my friends Bonanza in the yellow range, even the red of IAS and rip the wings off of the aircraft. When I flew the SR22, 75% power and LOP, IAS was at the edge of green arc, maybe 165-170 IAS. The sims SR22 is doing more like SR20 speeds at 145-150 best.

I did a couple of quick looks at the SR-22. At 10,000’, the POH says it should get 73% of possible power at full throttle. It’s only showing 64%, but it is generating the correct 2700 RPM, so a bit of a mismatch there. The IAS is ~148 knots with TAS of 171 Knots. The POH indicates it should get 182 KTAS on a standard day. So a bit off.
At 8000’, full throttle giving 78% power, should get 2700 RPM and 183 knots TAS. The sim shows about 2700 RPM 77% power, and 161 knots IAS with 182 knots TAS. So just about right on there.
