Spot light set in Blender shines through geometry

I’ve got an issue with lights shining through geometry. I created a spot light with symmetry (without it it doesnt work at all) and it shines through walls and the light fixture geometry in the sim… It doesn’t happen on render though. Could anybody help me out with this? Thanks.

Can you make materials self-illuminating and then bake the textures on the mesh.

Also are you sure vertices are welded where possible?
