Squawk 7000?

I have had numerous instances where instead of ATC telling me to squawk VFR (1200), they tell me to squawk EMERGENCY 7000. Anyone else have this happen?

Most squawk code meanings are regional. Except for 7500, 7600, 7700 which apply worldwide.

From google

Flights on visual flight rules (VFR), when in uncontrolled airspace, will “squawk VFR” (or conspicuity code in the UK, 1200 in the US and Canada, 7000 in Europe ).

A very old reminder, was .75, still alive. 76, in a fix. 77, going to heaven.

You’ve mixed up the emergency 7700 and Europe VFR 7000. No biggie.

So, the VFR code for Indonesia is 7000?

I’ve never flown IRL overseas so I guess that got lost in my training (Or just old age hehe)

Europe is code 7000 for VFR. No idea regarding Indonesia.

This is one of those times that Wikipedia actually has a pretty up-to-date list of transponder codes.
