Great, so after grinding to start a company, diligently purchasing an aircraft and choosing where I wanted it delivered (thinking this would place both me and my aircraft at the airport I wanted to operate from) I am now thousands of miles from my new plane.
WTF. Thanks Microsoft for making it impossible for me to start a mission in it. Why no warning??? “You must choose the location that you are currently at”
What am I supposed to do, WALK there?

Oh and now it gets even more f@@# up. So I had to PAY 4k credits to move my aircraft to my location and now I don’t have ANY missions there.
Well, that is the END of my career mode experience. How many other poor dumb idiots have managed to screw it up by doing the same?
FFS. What is the point??? Why build such a stupid system where the user can totally bork the entire experience?
Shame on you MS.
EDIT But wait there’s more. Tried to transfer the aircraft back to the original location and CTD.
For heavens sake. How do I sue for mental trauma?

I think this is partially the fault of the fog of war system they use in career mode. Why do we need to physically fly to a location on the map to know whether or not jobs are there? I’ve never been to Chicago, but I’m sure I could find a job there from my house.
IIRC there is no tutorial explaining freelancing jobs. There should be an introduction freelancer mission which gives you the following:
- A guaranteed job as an introduction (maybe even disable weather and make VFR?) at or near your delivery location
- One time free transport to the introduction job with the caveat that all future transportation of the aircraft will require a fee
So now I have a company, and a plane, and cannot fly it or go anywhere. Seriously? What do I have to do?
Start again?
Wait for Santa to come and give me a mission?
What the hell Microsoft, NEOFLY is looking pretty good right now. Let’s all move to that instead.
Hey, totally understand your frustration. For the future, you as the pilot can teleport anywhere. So when you delivered the aircraft to a location, hypothetically if coincidentally there was a job at the aircraft location, you could just accept the job and start flying.
In the described case though, the aircraft was likely delivered to a location that didn’t have a job. I’m assuming maybe you thought you needed the aircraft at your location to start a job? I understand why you came to that conclusion.
It’s unintuitive but first you need to see a job on the map. Neither you nor the aircraft need to be at that location to look at the job, but the job needs to populate in the circle of airports around locations you’ve landed. If there’s no jobs there, then you need to fly more employee jobs to unlock more airports. Once you find a job that you want to fly, you click it on the map, accept the job, and both the pilot and aircraft will teleport there. No fee for the pilot, but the aircraft will cost a fee to be moved.
EDIT: Didn’t realize, but there’s a teleport cost if you want to go to a specific airport as the individual pilot. Don’t think it applies when accepting a job though.
Hope that helps.
When purchasing a plane and insurance and then deciding where to put it, there is nothing to warn you that you are about to create yourself a major ■■■ problem by choosing a great airport with amazing scenery and well located… only to find you have no jobs and you’re screwed.
Actually when I looked my planes location it said CREW 0. That’s the thing that got thinking I had to either move myself (no option to do that) or move the plane.
And one more thing. I had already been to both locations, where I was, and where my plane got delivered.
Either way I now need to do employer jobs again to get enough money to transfer us both to a job. Thanks for your replies.
Sams has happened to me wtf where they thinking no warning just hours waisted and a plans rusting with no way to move the plane to any missions just stuck there can’t afford to move it absolute joke of a game not to mention to controls just stop working mid air what a joke MS!
