Starting at gate but starting on the runway

I just posted this earlier today on another topic. These steps have never failed me. Maybe the steps can help.

Is this why MSFS is fantastic for releasing wonderful new stuff but a tad slow at fixing bugs?

Please post the aircraft model and Xbox or PC that you are using. My back teeth clench too whenever I click Fly and the sim starts me on the runway, and it is usually because before I clicked Fly I did not double-check that the World Map shows the gate or parking I have selected. On the World Map, please try doing these steps in this order: Select the aircraft if it is not already selected. Also, I always select an arrival gate or ramp, but I left that step out because for almost 2 years ATC and the sim in general have ignored whatever I choose for arrival parking.
