Starting at gate but starting on the runway

Apologies for if this has already been mentioned as I could not think of the words to use to seach…

Has anyone had the issue of selecting a parking place at the airport and, after having it happen a number of times, making absolute sure that the parking/gate has been selected… but yet, you still find yourself starting on the runway…

It been something that has been happening for me not too long now… Say, post NZ or the SU before that world update, on a… not regular as in all the time, but enough to become noticeably annoyingly as you have to end flight and start again…

Select (reselect if needed) airplane before select start location. Works fine with me every time.

I made a similar experience. If you change anything else, plane, weather, and selected a gate/ramp in advance, do it a second time just before go flying.

I just posted this earlier today on another topic. These steps have never failed me. Maybe the steps can help.

Is this why MSFS is fantastic for releasing wonderful new stuff but a tad slow at fixing bugs?

Please post the aircraft model and Xbox or PC that you are using. My back teeth clench too whenever I click Fly and the sim starts me on the runway, and it is usually because before I clicked Fly I did not double-check that the World Map shows the gate or parking I have selected. Also, I always select an arrival gate or ramp, but I left that step out because for almost 2 years ATC and the sim in general have ignored whatever I choose for arrival parking.
