Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

Brief description of the issue:

If you choose a parking spot as a departure point at an airport and then change aircraft, the departure point will change to the default runway in the FROM section. You will still see the parking spot’s “node” filled-in in green even though the sim has changed the departure point to the default runway.

This feels like it’s related to this issue:
Default Runway Description Box not Clearing when Selecting Parking Spot - #2 by AviatorCSnet

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Select an airport from the FROM box, when it zooms to detail, select a parking spot on the map and set as departure (note that it shows the parking spot as the departure point in the FROM section above), change aircraft, now note the departure point in the FROM section is the default runway, note the parking spot’s node is still illuminated in green and the description box is present for the parking spot, too. Click fly and find yourself on the default runway ready for take-off.

This bug is seriously obnoxious and quite aggressive.

Basically, any change to your flight plane, aircraft, etc. will evoke it. What’s worse is the flight path will still visually show you departing from a parking spot and taxiing to the runway, when you’re actually going to end up departing from the runway.

If this isn’t fixed before the end of the beta, I have a feeling it’s going to raise the ire of all of us regularly. I can already predict all the times we forget it occurs and click fly only to have to quit back to the menu and start all over again.

Please, dev team, prioritize this one.

Brief description of the issue:

After selecting a parking spot for spawning (departure), the selected parking spot is highlighted. If you change the aircraft after that, the parking spot is still highlighted. The aircraft does not spawn on this spot in cold&dark state though after clicking “Fly”, but with running engine on the runway.

Yes, but in my case the problem also exist if I do not change aircraft after parking spot selection.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

When selecting a parking spot to start a flight, it is suposed to start cold and dark, however since SU12 beta I am put on the runway fully setup regardless of starting at a parking spot or not. Most likley all airports with parking spots are affected.

following MODs are installed:
Mikeaat-Assetpack
Austrian Landmarkprojects
PG Innsbruck scenery
PG Linz (+Pöstlingberg) scenery
Project Lifts Europe
We love VFR region 1 and 2

Edit:

This was with TBM 930 and Cessna 208 at the new New Zealand Milford Sound Airport (NZMF, VR mode) and Latina Airport (LIRL, pancake mode)

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

I spawned a few times cold and dark without any problem. However, one time, I tried spawning at KSAN parking spot 18 with the Beechcraft Bonanza in live weather with all players. Instead, I was put on the active runway, 27, with engines running. Restarting the flight (i.e., hitting the Esc key and choosing the Restart option at the bottom) resulted in me still being on runway 27. Exiting out of the flight and re-spawning at that same position put me cold and dark exactly where I was supposed to be.

Same issue here, really anoying.

Here are 3 times that I position my plane at the parking lot on the map then find my aircraft at the runway threshold simply by going to the command options to select a command profile adapted to the plane. I have not been able to reproduce this behavior on purpose.

Not sure how this triggers. I’ve had it happen only a couple of times since the beta update and at different airports, with different planes.

FWIW, you don’t have the gate selected as departure, just clicked on.

If you watch your video, in the top bar where it states your departure, it still shows the runway.

I’m guessing you clicked on the spot, but didn’t click on select as departure? Or if you did, it didn’t register, which might be a bug.

this does not appear to have been fixed in todays release. disappointing

Yup. I either mis click or just need to make sure after choosing a different plane to go back and select the gate I want. Easy thing to overlook or forget, just did it actually. But it’s all good.

This bug is making me NUTS!

Even when I totally know about it, and try to be careful, I end up on the runway ready to take off. Argh.

Very annoying bug indeed, hopefully resolved before going live with SU12.
