Hi all,
I have a new (but old) problem which we remember from a long time a go. Namely, the “Press any key to start” message.
When I start Msfs the normal screen appears but with a flashing X-Box window in the middle of my screen.
When I click the ‘X’ on the right corner this window closes and leaves me with the “Press any key…” window.
When I press a key it returns to the previous screen in which the X-Box window reappears, so it ‘loops’.
Any Idea of what I could have done wrong?

Exactly what I thought, but even after signing-out (and signing in again) the flashing X-Box window reappears when I start MSFS.
It appears, that I’m correctly logged in on the X-Box app (see screenshot).
What confuses me is that the MSFS window seems to tell me “there is a problem logging in” to the X-Box app while I seem to be logged-in when I check my account page.
So far all looks normal although I don’t seem to be logged in.
When I click the “sign in” option in the upper left corner I get the option “change settings”.
It looks that way. I visited the troubleshoot page and reinstalled everything related to X-Box but the issue remains. It seems all possible ways sign in to X-Box live eventually result to the same error page with the de satisfying message You can’t login to Xbox Live, Please try again later…
I’m sure it isn’t a MSFS problem but a Login problem at X-Box. Also I noticed more users are having the same issue. Some of them even reinstalled MSFS from scratch without result.
Thanks for your effort. I’ll keep in touch when the problem is solved.
I must say their respons-time is surprisingly fast.
The only downside is they send you links to possible solutions that I already tried.
Of course I scrolled through this forum first to find similar problems and maybe a solution. Then I scrolled the Internet but came across a lot of ‘wishful thinkers’ and a lot of clickbait video’s.
The past couple of days we tried nearly every possible solution without result. My last advice was to “contact the X-box support desk”. Strange because it is a Microsoft related problem.
Anyway, I have a last trick on my sleeve to repair the situation, but that takes some preparation. Securing other important data etc.
I hope it will work and if so, I’ll let it know in this topic.
I used a backup Clone I made before these problems started to restore my working Os to the current C: drive.
Theoretically the problem should be solved right? Wrong, there still was the problem that the Store App wouldn’t connect to my Microsoft account “Something went wrong try again later”.
It’s strange that a failure in two apps (Microsoft-Store and Xbox Live) can’t be corrected in a simple way. The only solution was to take drastic measures.
I reinstalled Windows (keeping Apps and Personal files). When the installation was finished and after rebooting several times due to continual updates I could start to use my Pc again. It took me a while to tweak it to my liking again but I managed to get all my programs working again.
When I started Msfs it would nicely login to the Store- and Xbox app and launch Msfs normally. I still think it’s strange to have to take drastic measures just to reset a few files.
