MSFS 2020 runs very well through proton and is even playable on the Steam Deck. Will this also be the case for 2024?

When I was testing on my PC under Linux, MSFS 2020 ran ok with DX11 but broke badly under DX12. My understanding is that MSFS 2024 may be DX12-only, so we’ll see what we get.

On PC, only Windows 10 and 11 are supported operating systems. You may or may not be able to run it on other OSes, but this is unsupported and may not work as intended.

I had a similar experience with 2020. Broke under DX12 and needed to go into the settings config to change it back
I hope MSFS2024 won’t break like this, and I hope Microsoft won’t do anything to intentionally make sure it won’t work, but we will just have to wait and see

As long as you are not actively preventing the use of other operating systems it should be fine.
I was wondering whether you might consider the Steam Deck a target platform.
MSFS2020 was one of the more unexpected things to work well on the Deck, so I thought you might want to lean into that success.
