Steam - Uninstall - doesn't remove file from AppData/Roaming folder

It should, otherwise there is a whopping 112GB of files still in there, which should be blank space, and reported under C: Properties as such.

Win10.

Never trust “uninstall” for any program. You always need to go looking for the extraneous bits and pieces left by the procedure and then clean up the registry too. In this case I think that all uninstall does is delete the installer because as you say the vast majority is still left on your disk.

Yes, I agree.

However, a tool used to ‘install’ that also offers ‘uninstall’ should do so - removing exactly what it placed, as standard.

Leaving it for the user to play ‘hunt the files’ isn’t right.

"Maybe this is some Xbox compatability issue (MSFS2020 files) legacy, I don’t know.

Win 10 FS2020 APP “Uninstall” does not delete the additional 172 GB or so
from the PC either.

It just deletes FS2020 from the C: (boot) drive.

As in, I have never checked if the C: files are deleted. I always go back to MS Store and reinstall FS2020. The install always installs on the C:\ (boot) drive.

If you reinstall to a new drive, the old location (the 172 GB) will be left there.
If you reinstall to a new drive, the additional 172 GB will be downloaded again.

Better to just use Win 10 Settings, APPs MS Flight Simulator to
“MOVE” FS2020 to your new desired SSD or location.

Mine is on D:\FS2020.

Yes, on my main PC I move things about to best suit - this was really just a test install to see how it performs on a much lower spec machine.

Really disappointed ‘Uninstall’ does virtually jackshit. Finger out very much needed.
