Yes. While you own the Sim through your Steam account, your Xbox account is what your online service access is tied to.

Thanks. I asked because I don’t remember being asked this on a pop-up screen during previous updates. Sure I may have entered my microsoft account elsewhere during the initial install, but not on SU’s prior to SU5.
Anyways, my problem is still unsolved. Right now I have ongoing correspondence with Zendesk, tried many many possible solutions from forums and zendesk which didn’t work, but hopefully a working solution will come. (Ref: stuck at packages download with 0 bytes).

You will have logged in once, and then it will have remembered your details.
As for the download issue, is it looping on a single file, or is it another issue?

Your Microsoft account is your Xbox account though. They’re the same. If you entered your Microsoft Account previously, then you need to enter the same login again now.

Not looping, but stuck on the very first package file it tries to DL… stuck at 0 bytes. After a few minutes, ends up with “connection lost” or “verification fails” (something like that). I’ve been high and low for trying many solutions suggested everywhere, none works. There is one user who reported a solution that worked - Fresh install of Windows 10 - but this is something I can’t do, at least not on this PC.
