Step One for Dummies

I just want to fly with Solaris via FSA. I do not want to build an airport. The FSA client apparently needs SimConnect to work. I have been digging for hours and hours, trying to figure out how to accomplish that.

So far, I have downloaded the SDK installer from within MSFS in developer mode. I do not know what to do after that. I have this MSFS SDK folder now, but I don’t know what to do with it. Dropping it in Community does nothing. I just want to connect to FSA. (Also, I’m a Mac guy, so I’m not really sure what to do with .dll files. Be nice!)

Man, I am just stumped. Can anyone help me with this most basic step? Thanks in advance.

You don’t need to install or do anything for SimConnect. Just download the FSA beta version and select “SimConnect” as interface in the settings of the FSA client. No need for SDK downloads, dll placements, etc.

Thank you. I’ve seen varying versions of whether I need it or not, some even said I need FPIUC. I’m totally stumped. I can use VATSIM. I can use REX. I keep everything updated and my PC is a beast. I’ve had very little issues with MSFS since Day 1. I just don’t understand why FSA says my sim is “not started” no matter what I’ve tried.

Could be the wrong version of FSA? Or something wrong in your profile? I’ve never used it myself, so not much of help here
