Still get CTD on loading screen!

This whole cloud thing is still buggy as hell !

In the UK 05:00 GMT, cant get past activating packages … again just like what happened on day 1 ???

It may be an idea to do a cloud reset,

https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409228619538-How-to-delete-a-cloud-save-on-PC-to-fix-some-loading-issues-or-reset-the-logbook

Ok, thanks, but that don’t work, I’ve just reinstalled a fresh copy of windows so the community folders are empty. So assume there is no cloud data to delete ?

Reinstalled FS2024 on C: usual directory via MS Store. Run inside and outside Xbox App.

Not got past activation since the fresh install.

No, the cloud data is what microsoft store at their end.

I second this advice. If there is a problem with the Cloud Data there is no other way to fix it. If you do not delete the Cloud Data you just end up chasing your tail as it repeatedly reloads the same problem over and over again. Been there done that!

I get this error when running the command.

Any idea what the next move is @SierraBravo8594 ?

That looks like the wrong CMD command, you mentioned it’s for fs24, so it’s this command instead…

  • start shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves

I copied and paste that command line, on pressing enter the game launches and still doesn’t get past the activating packages. The loading screen stutters, pauses randomly during the activation phases, then freezes at random points and crashes to desktop.

Tried in safe mode but the result is the same.

Let’s go back to the beginning… What are your pc specs? List all of them here and we will take a look at what’s really going on from there.

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO
INTEL CORE i9 - 14900KS OC 6.2Ghz
2 x 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB 5600 DDR5
iCUE H150i ELITE RGB AIO Liquid cooler
Msi GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
C: Corsair MP700 PRO 4TB M.2 NVMe (OS & MSFS2024 install)
D: Corsair MP600 PRO 8TB M.2 NVMe
E: Seagate FireCuda 530 4TB M.2 NVMe
Superflower Leadex 1600w PSU
W11 Pro 24H2

I would suggest to undo any over clocking and try again. It’s best to start with a default bios instead of using any OC. Just to get a baseline as to whether you can get the sim working first of all.

Very nice system btw.

i was having the same CTD’s randomly; couldnt play FS2024 at all. Same error code of 0xc000005. I have the intel i9-13900K and Asus Rog Z790 motherboard.

I tried all the fixes as described in the forums, including updating drivers, BIOS updates including disabling overclocking and using Intel Default profiles; increased page file but nothing worked. When i opened a Zendesk ticket for this error code 0xc00005, the zendesk page said that people with i9-13900 processors may have CTD’s due to damage to processors due to some voltage issue with certain motherboards [ Like ASUS motherboards], and Asobo/ Zendesk recommended opening a ticket with Intel [there is a separate topic on this elsewhere].

So i opened a ticket with Intel, and got my replacement i9-13900K CPU yesterday. I replaced my old CPU with this one. Incidentally, i felt like two of my memory sticks were very slightly not fully seated in their slots. When i pressed down on them, i heard a very faint click.

Today there was also a small update to the sim. Anyway, i have FINALLY completed two to three days of simming in FS2024, and all times FS2024 was rock solid and smooth from start to finish! I also went into VR, and there were no CTD’s there either!

Previously i also would have to reboot my PC after a long flight [ as if i didnt, my PC would crash]. But this time. I flew 2 VFR flights in VR, without rebooting my PC and both were smooth and rock solid!

The error code i would get in Event Viewer was always the 0xc00005 error.

So for other with the Intel i9-13 or i9-14oo CPU’s look into this issue. Also make sure your RAM is seated really well in the slots.

Good luck!

@DocAdnanA @SierraBravo8594 been a while, but a quick update.

Doc was correct, I started to get some very unstable running of my machine, so I RMA back to the vendor for repair. The result was a fried CPU as expected from the i9 13 & 14 series CPU’s, and also a faulty motherboard probably a result of the CPU failure.

All faulty components replaced and now FS2024 loads with no issue at all !

Thanks all for your feedback.

GaryB.
