Stop taking over my Bluetooth mic

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: When I start up the sim, it grabs my bluetooth headset mic, which puts it in a mode that very seriously degrades audio performance. It’s the same thing that happens when I use this bluetooth headset for Zoom. But on zoom, I can resolve the issue by selecting a different mic. In flight sim, I have tried disabling voice chat and selecting a different input device, which I would expect would allow the headset to continue in audio mode only, but it continues in headset mode with the mic active. Please allow me to disable any voice inputs such that my bluetooth headset can continue in output only mode for better sound quality. I currently cannot use my bluetooth headphones with flight sim at all because it’s so bad.

I can solve the issue by disabling handsfree telephony in my bluetooth hardware properites, but that’s a crazy workaround and I want to be able to tell the sim just not to use the bluetooth mic.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Every time on sim load

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Have a bluetooth headset like mine (Mine is the Sony WH-1000XM5)
  2. Turn on the sim
  3. For bonus points, have music or a video playing while loading the sim and you can hear the point when the sim grabs the device and the autio quality goes way down.
