Strange display of traffic lights in the distance

Maybe this has already been mentioned. When zooming in on air traffic with the lights on, they become less visible than with no zoom at all. It should be the other way around. Any hope this bug will be fixed?

This has been an issue in FS2020 forever, or at least for a very long time now. It’s not just zooming in and out. Panning left or right will make distant objects disappear once you get to certain view angles, then reappear when you pan past that point.

I suspect it might have something to do with masks used to cover the base sat. imagery. Just a guess, I really don’t know what would cause it and seems likely Asobo will never fix it. I will say it does seem worse with framegen enabled using LossLess Scaling.

Yeah, it’s worse on 2020 because the lights are generally smaller. And small lights cause issues with TAA and Frame Generation since both rely on predictive algorithms.

Yes I experience that too, every time the traffic is distant enough.

Moved to User Support Hub that is more appropriate for community support.

I did not find any existing bug report for that issue. If anyone knows about one please indicate it here. If not, anyone can create a new report, using the provided template.

I think the elephant in the room is MSFS2024 with all it’s bugs, that will probably be prioritised over anything in MSFS2020.

If someone could test in FS2024 and confirm still happening there, then a bug report can be created with both tags msfs-2020 & msfs-2024 .

That’s sounds like a good idea thanks.

Just submitted a ticket for MSFS2020. Thanks.

Where did you open the ticket ?, to the zendesk ?

Yes. Request #236786

Thanks.

Zendesk is not used anymore to reports bugs, so more likely your ticket will be closed as “Solved” (does not mean issue is fixed). The only place to report bug is that forum in the Bug Reporting Hub category, please feel free to create a report there using the provided template. Thank you !
