Yes, perhaps that is the culprit?
The Staggerwing sound bug also occurs if another player is using one in multiplayer. You can hear it a long distance away. Something similar can happen with the Goose I think.
I had not realised it also occurred with AI versions of the Staggerwing.

I have the AI models turned on for some variety. Although I’m having a hard time looking at all of them with the MSFS liveries.
There are just so many odd AI things that happen on the ground. 
The mod fixed the issue for me. I’ll admit though, the engine sound of the staggerwing is fantastic
If that’s what it is, it sounds terrible as a bug. It’s not spatially placed and balanced.
If it sounded like a nearby Staggerwing it would sound amazing.
Agree. I’ve had this happen to me before when I did a flight with the staggerwing then did another flight with the bonanza and could here the staggerwing in the background. The sound never went away. Ended up having to restart sim
Before I rebuilt my PC, mine use to do this all the time, however I dont have the staggerwing.
You probably forgot your annual inspection. There may be an engine malfunction that will be discovered during an annual. Smile… Only Kidding… Just had to…
For a while I thought it was something like that. Then I heard it in the TBM and knew that wasn’t possible.
