So i recently got a Stream Deck+ and am getting around to setting it up for flight simming. I’ve done a bit of looking around and come across Axis and Ohs, FSUIPC, and Spad.next for configuring controls and had a couple questions
From what i understand, all these programs are basically tools to setup controls and have them talk back and forth to the sim ~ i’m not too sure what the difference is compared to just binding things in-game? Would this allow things like buttons on the Stream Deck to mirror the state that they are in-sim?
Are there any positives/negatives of using one program over the other, or is it mostly personal preference? I also play IL-2 Great Battles and some of the other flight/vehicle sims (like BeamNG/ETS2), so it would be nice to have a single program that could work with multiple games
Sorry if these are pretty obvious questions, but a lot of the videos on these programs just dive straight in without giving a general overview :S
I’ve used Spad from day one - takes some learning but I literally have scripts running to trigger actions, altitude and warning call outs based on aircraft position and speed, adjustable force on flaps, spoilers, trim - full access to aircraft LVARS, an online library of setups and much more.
I have only a few common bindings in-game, everything is in Spad. Fast copy and paste, reuse everything. Auto switches Profile to whatever aircraft loaded. No fear of losing anything - Spad saves 10+ backups as you go. A very robust community - well worth the time investment IMHO.

I’m basically with the previous poster, have most assignments in Spad.next.
The only thing I would like to add, both, Spad.next and Axis and Ohs, have fully working 14-day trials. So no risk at all to find out what’s best for you. I don’t know about FSUIPC.
Take care

Thanks for your guys’ input! Is there a list anywhere of games that Spad.next is compatible with? On their website, they do mention SCS truck sims and iRacing, but are you able to use it/do they have compatibility for other games (for example, IL-2 or Steel Beasts Pro)?
If they don’t have official compatibility, are you able to adapt things to other games, or is it strictly only for games that they have configured?
Only for games they’re compatible with - primarily MSFS and XPlane.
