Millions of users trying to work stuff out vs a company staff that gets to work fixing bugs instead of spend their whole day answering the same questions a few thousand times.. I think it is a good tradeoff.
On loading, I got to 97% because of the Black Square Bonanza addon. Removing that and it loaded in fine and fast, again.
Maybe it will work fine once we have our 2020 deluxe aircraft in hangar. But it is clear that incompatible mods can cause it.
Do a repair file
Small update: i seem to be having more luck loading the game past 97%, ive launched 2 times now without any external help (VPN or anything else) and it has launched fully, the first time it crashed in the menus though. im going to try and play a mission and see what happens
I’ve just reinstalled the sim. Well what could it hurt, as I’ve not yet managed to get in to change anything.
Well, there’s some good news and some not so good. I managed to get past my previous 98% blockage and even past the customize identity, but making the mistake of actually selecting a character caused a CTD. At least it’s progress, albeit not overly impressive. 
Another update: I can actually load the game however whenever i try and do Free Flight, Missions, Career or anything fo that matter, the game just dosent want to load it. so thats fun…
I can boot or close 2024 with no issue. It boots up faster than 2020 ever did. It does not stop at the 97% place. Once you get 2024 to boot up properly just one time fully (with all your assets, such as the Premium Deluxe assets), then from that time forward it will not stop at 97% again. It will race past that point.
The trick is to just get it to boot up fully one time. After that one time, you’re golden from then on.
The first 7 or 8 times I tried to boot 2024, it failed or it booted with missing planes and airports. And it kept on failing on all trials to boot up. Until it booted up once fully (it took awhile for it to boot, a long time, but it fully booted). After that, no more issues with slow or incomplete bootups.
Unfortunately this has not worked for me , Same Same 97% and nothing

worked more or less OK during the day (NZ), load times around 15mins. For two hours now, stuck again at 97% - this issue is not resolved MS/Asobo!!
The Game Pass is stuck at 97% and cannot enter the game. Please resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you!

Try a VPN to the US
When you do get past 97%, whenever you see exit to desktop, exit normally.
This ensures the data is stored correctly on disk.
Then it boots ok every time.
Where is that folder for Steam users?
I dont have this Folder in that location.
Got it going, I had to install to C: Drive

Well, a suggestion that someone mentioned worked earlier, but now I am back to 97% again. 2 days is enough. Time for a refund.
MSFS2020 was never a bad sim, and it worked.
MSFS2024 just is not ready, and probably won’t be for another 6 months. I will def come around and purchase 2024 again when it is in better shape. But Asobo needs to seriously invest more in their server infrastruture before I spend any more money.

This is definitely a server issue it hasnt anything to do with our PC configurations. Its 100% Asobo/MS fault. I played for 1,5 hours yesterday. But cant log in again and stuck on 97% no matter if i use VPN or not.

I got it going after doing a full uninstall/reinstall, but not certain whether that fixed it, server demand had reduced to a manageable level or MS had put more hamsters into the wheel. 
I had a single CTD when trying to select a pre-made character appearance, for speed, but it restarted fast enough, although it was after midnight here and there was a delay in getting the career mode started.
Let’s see how it goes today.
