Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
Tried reinstall, tried repair, tried windows store reset stuff, removed all 3rd party apps. Was working before the most recent (couple hundred M’s?) update.

GTX 1080, i7 8700, Win 10 latest.

So… if you have nothing in your community folder and you are running no mods or add-ons (TrackIR, Navigraph, FSUIPC, etc.) then the loader is stalling, waiting for something to initialize.
Are you loading cold and dark on the ramp or ready to go on the runway?
I skip all the pre-departure processes so it’s already on the runway and ready to lift off with throttle and up pitching.
I also turned off all live weather and traffic stuff but no luck either. Using a basic Cessna 172.
Is there any way to see the loading log? Dev mode did not give me much info needed for that.
Are you using the default voice or Azure?
The first thing that happens when it is done loading is the ATC chatter, when you load on the runway. I have to wonder if the loader cannot initialize the voice driver.
It was set to Azure. Tried both Offline and No… still stalled at 99% with identical behavior. (First 85% went through quick and the remaining took forever). Cool facts at bottom left were still rolling.
Updated the graphics card and restarted. It works now yay (at 2560x1080) ! Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Hard to believe I oversaw that. Thought I updated it just last night.
Previous driver was a Jan 2021 version from Nvidia. I updated it to today’s version (3/30/2021)
Go back and download the standard version of MSFS. I have the Premium version but accidentally updated with the Standard version and it worked. All my Premium planes and 3rd party software was there and working. You will have to change your in game graphic settings back to what you had as this was the only page that was changed
Hmm interesting that you brought out about the graphics setting “resetting” when I solved my issue by updating the Nvidia driver. Thanks for sharing it!

I had a similar problem with loading stuck on the London scene picture, panic ensued.
After a day of tinkering I decided to reinstall graphics driver 461.92 and all was well.
Panic back to normal.
NEVER re-download MSFS unless you have a hardware failure. There is absolutely NO way that the software is corrupted unless a drive glitched. If that is the problem, then a download will be required once you have replaced the offending hardware.
A “full reinstall of Windows and MSFS” is just a colossal waste of time and will inevitably end up with leftover bits that will cause problems and are darn near impossible to find.

Wanna give all an update.
Turned out it was a 34 monitor I plugged into my 1080 Ti. The monitor was shut off, so you thought no software would care; but the DP cord was still connected to the desktop. Once I unplugged the DP cord from desktop, MSFS 2020 loaded ok.
I was refering to the updates downloading. I have and will not sit thru another download of MSFS 2020 since Aug 18, 2020 unless SSD crashed or burns up.
