I have new install of Windows and MSFS. Downloaded all world updates, took off from Charles de Gaulle, then wanted to take off from Heathrow, but found myself at Charles de Gaulle again. No matter what airport I choose for departure, the game puts me in Charles de Gaulle. Restarted the game, chose another airport, but I was at Charles de Gaulle. Restarted Windows, but I am at Charles de Gaulle again and again. Looks like I am stuck in Paris. Nice city, but I want to fly to other places too.
Happened this morning with newest build, using MS store version.
Go to
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\MISSIONS\Custom
Delete folder named CustomFlight and run msfs.
EDIT
Also uncheck Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 …
How to.
Open system settings > time & language > region.
Scroll down and click > additional data, timee & regional settings.
In new window click Region > administrative tab > change system locale.
Uncheck box - Beta: Use unicode UTF - 8 …
Click OK and restart now.
Thank you, it worked! But now I am stuck at a different airport. It seems that I will always need to delete that folder before choosing a different airport for departure. Quite frustrating.
Uncheck Beta: UTF-8 and restart system.
It was already unchecked by default.
Check box utf-8 and restart pc.
Also delete folder CustomFlight and install English (Uited States) language pack.

Thanks. Indeed, it seems that it had to be checked instead of unchecked. Now it works perfectly.
UPDATE: It seems that this solution worked, but it ruined some other programs, e.g. Adobe After Effects, which will not launch anymore with the error message “can not load unicode characters”.
