Hi pilots,
since today my Flight Sim is stuck forever in this loading screen (20 minutes for now).
Is there something wrong? Should I re-install it?
Hi pilots,

You on PC or Xbox?
Try starting the sim using a custom shortcut.
Make a cmd shortcut on your desktop, and replace what’s in Target with the following:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App “-FastLaunch”
On PC of course
Perfect I will try this as soon as I´m back at home. Looks like this time the Flight Sim 20 is not launching after emptying the Community folder I tried before leaving but no luck this time.
Removing Comodo firewall might have caused some serious problems on my current Windows installation and the Flight Sim.
Comodo was suddenly deactivated because the trial phase was over a week ago or so, and I could not delete it after this.
While it was deactivated it was not possible to install GOG to download Witcher 3, it was not possible to run any VPN, and it was not possible to install another firewall.
Hmmm… After the removal tool for Comodo Firewall and after resetting the original Windows firewall with Command prompt + “netsh advfirewall reset” FS20 asked during the last launch if Windows firewall should allow FS20 to go online, and I allowed public and private network.
Since this time the Flight Sim is not launcing anymore.
Moved to Community Support-Install-performance & graphics.
After emptying the Community folder and disabling antivirus it is still stuck forever in the loading screen.
Any tips left or should I try to re-install over night?
OK sh!t since tempering around with the Firewall and some Windows settings the Flight Sim does not function on this Windows installation anymore.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Flight Sim 20 changed nothing, downloaded 1 GB, went to the loading screen (the one it´s stuck forever) and I cannot even get to the next scene where the 120 GB download begins.
Looks like I need a new SSD and a new Windows installation.
Maybe an older Windows restore point without deleting any data will also be possible.
I have done this only once a few months ago - can anyone tell me how this is done? I guess pressing F11 and going to “repair windows, keep data” right?
Is creating a Windows bootstick with RUFUS necessary or does it restore Windows on it´s own?
Are all programs deleted or do I go back do an older desktop with older program versions installed like some time machine?
Oh wow please people keep the fingers away from Comodo! As soon as the trial runs out the program can suddenly no longer be started and also not removed or uninstalled, and after running the Comodo removal tool the health and integrity of your Windows installation is literally gone.
I would start here, follow the steps in order!
All checked but none of these is the problem.
I am currently creating the new Windows 10 bootstick.
The Apacer Panther SSD is a very fast SSD, and has a sufficient size for a fresh WIndows installation.
Wow this is the second time this year I destroy Windows 10 with the Comodo firewall maybe I´ll should give up on this program forever!
But unfortunately I cannot find a second firewall that manages to do this one simple task:
When a program tries to get online, no matter which one, blocking it first, asking me (for example "Resident Evil 2 tries to connect with Capcom IP3454356 do you want to allow this? Yes / No ( + forever remember your choice option).
No other firewall is as good as Comodo!
Can anyone recommend a good firewall that has the same functions while being less… invasive to the Windows most inner guts when installing it?
To enjoy my next fresh Windows installation for some longer time than this one.
If you are still stuck, at the end of that checklist are links to the next series.
Sorry none of these things mentioned can help.
But don´t worry I am always computing with all my data on 13 Terabytes of external harddrives, even the Firefox is the Portable Edition Firefox to keep all passwords log-ins Youtube-Bookmarks with the best audiobooks etc.
The Windows SSD is literally empty and only has the pure operating system without any other files stored on it.
That´s why re-installing an operating system or testing new operating systems is just a small 15 minutes inconvenience.
Unplugging all other SSD drives, install Windows install Radeon Adrenaline graphics card driver, MSI Dragon Center, Microsoft XBox (why is this program called “Xbox” I´m on PC but this is where the Game Pass games are installed and tried out befory buying) and Steam and GOG.
That´s it. It´s very useful having all data folders outsourced to external drives.
Everything else like re-downloading and re-installing my games is done overnight with no effort with one click.
Steam recognizes the installed games on the drives now having a new drive letter after having the new installation and just adds all games to the library list without re-downloading them.
Only modding Witcher 3 might take a bit longer.
I hope a cluster size of 1024 and exFAT are the perfect file systems for the fresh Win10 USB boot stick. Some people write 4k cluster size is better and way faster.
The brandnew Windows NeonBuck v1.0 is finished.
This will take a while now…
It was really tempting to install Windows Longhorn Neonbuck on an NVMe because the new bootstick was showing these hyperfast drives for the first time during the install config, but I didn´t have a backup of the stuff stored on the NVMe´s that´s why I have chosen the more casual SSD prepared for this new OS.
Until midnight Flight Sim 20 should be freshly installed. (And we will see if Rainbow Six Extraction will be a monster shooter of similar quality and style as Doom2016…)
