Every time I use CTRL + 1 to enter instrument view 1, I can’t press F to go back to the default view in the cockpit. Every time I do, it just moves the camera a little bit and then leaves me back where I started. I attached a video below. Throughout the entire video, I’m pressing F like crazy to go back to default view.
Before you ask: yes, I have checked ALL of my keybinds, which have not changed from SU 1. As soon as I downgrade to SU 1, the issue disappears, even though all of my keybinds are still the same. And as soon as I upgrade to SU 2 again, the issue is back again, keybinds still the same:
And here’s the video:
A workaround is press your view key (CTRL-1) again. I have the default bindings, but pressing it once changes to the camera view, then pressing it again goes back to the default view.

This is definitely a behaviour change I had a button mapped to reset view that I’ve always used in 2020 and until now in 2024 and suddenly it not longer works as it did/should instead of resetting to the default view it resets the view within the camera you have selected, eg if you do Ctrl+1 and then pan all it does it reset you back to to where you panned from. Very annoying

I’m actually surprised this isn’t talked about more, at least I haven’t seen any discussion about it. As you say, pressing ‘reset view’ resets the view within the instrument view, if you have looked around. However, you also say that you can’t get back to the pilot’s view. That’s not my experience.
When I go into the instrument view, and I look around, ‘reset view’ resets the instrument view, just like you say. If I press ‘reset view’ a second time, it goes back to the pilot’s view.
If I go into instrument view, and I don’t look around, ‘reset view’ instantly goes back to the pilot’s view.
There is a third scenario, as well. If you’re in the pilot’s view and look around, and from there enter the instrument view, don’t look around, and press ‘reset view’, it takes you to the previous, non-reset pilot’s view. Press ‘reset’ again, it resets the pilot’s view.
If the link works, this video clip shows me doing these three scenarios, as described above.
I use my HOTAS to do all this, but if I try the keyboard shortcuts, it works the same.

Hi,
Finally glad to see someone talking about this. I was surprised to have the same “bug” since I switched to the SU2. I could make a video tomorrow, but it’s the same for me.
When I move from custom view to custom view, I have no problem, however, when I am for example in cockpit custom view (main pilot) and I move my camera with my mouse (classic right click) towards for example the squawk, then at that moment when I press again on my main pilot view it puts me back in a position that is not my custom view. I have to press again a second time.
On MSFS2020, the solution consisted of binding over our main view key, the bind being called “Reset cockpit view” and then no problem. This bypass also worked on MSFS2024 (SU1) but since the SU2, the problem is back without a bypass solution.
Glad you took the initiative to shed light on this issue, which at first glance seems like a minor “problem”, but ultimately for a regular user it is very unpleasant.
Hoping that solutions or tips will emerge…

The reason it’s probably not got much interest as it’s just another bug or change by Asobo/MS that seems to be aimed at annoying the user… click click click I think it’s a Microsoft policy across their entire range of software why click once when you can click twice. People are trying to enjoy a flight and giving up on bugs and faults as testers for Asobo. Even noticed streamers are loosing interest in MSFS which is sad.
