Hello,
i have an old computer but my Sim runs good with my settings but only during takeoff and landing i have incredible stutters.
Locked FPS to 30 fps.
In takeoff roll (around 70kts and more) and until 500 ft AGL my sim stutters incredible.
FPS going down to around 7-9 fps.
After 500ft it “more or less” stable at around 26-30 fps.
Photogrammetry cities are deleted, bing data for terrain is active but photogrammetry is off
Community folder is almost empty (Navigraph, FBW Stable, Salty 747, FSUIPC, WT CJ4)
I too suddenly started getting stuttering today. no idea why, no changes were made to my system or community folder. started a flight out of EGKK and bam stutter starts. now can’t get rid of it. happens even at high 35k ft altitude. reducing settings to potato mode doesnt help.
agreed - i wasn’t having any issues 24hrs ago and stuttering tonight…I think it is server related as I’ve been booted off streaming scenery several times
When this happens I clean the \official folder and download this massive folder fresh over night.
I can remember also this happening to me, with a computer I upgraded from, overkill PC power solves most problems (but not everything, like guys with 3090Ti cards and still have stutters)
i have these stutters always so no problem that is caused by server
Tbh Large airports are always harder on a PC than at height but particularly so on older and low end systems. Despite what you think 26-30 fps in the air isn’t good at all and I would say the only real way for you to avoid stutters is to reduce LOD and traffic settings or play at a lower resolution because you really need upwards of 20fps on the tarmac to be anywhere near smooth.
30fps in the air is the best i can achieve right now and is good for me.
Dont need 60 fps at FL400
Reducing Precaching Terrain reduced my stutter
Oh yes I forgot about that one, probably as it does nothing for me.
Happy Simming
yes the stutters is not completely gone but its really better now.
Happy Simming
Stutters are not caused by server problems.
I have never seen drop downs or spikes in my internet data flow when there are stutters.
Stutters are always problems with internal data handeling.
We all have seen that after an update from Asobo stuttering sometimes go’s up or with an other update go’s down.
Stuttering is also about hardware configuration versus in-game settings and with bad program code by Asobo.
Mechanical drives? Slow ram? … if his rig is that old it’s probably ddr3 in which case he’s doing well to get a tune out of it.
MSFS and Windows is on SSD
Will buy a new rig on christmas
That’s good. If you have a budget in mind you’ll get plenty of sim specific advice on these boards. What is most important is that your new PC is well balanced (erring towards the cpu).
I totally agree with you!
Sometimes users make a choice to upgrade there PC with a new and more powerfull graphics card and leave there old CPU in place. When this CPU is mid end and there GPU is high end then most of the time the performance is quite disappointing. Balance is the magic word.
What are your PC specs, my PC is quite old and I very seldom get stutters.
Intel i5-2500K
Gigabyte RX 580 8GB
16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
1TB SSD WD BLue SATA
FullHD monitor
Yes, your PC is a bit on the small side for the sim, mine is not much, but just a bit bigger.
Do you have a manual page file, or do you use system managed?
what do you mean?
I have sent you a DM with an explanation.
This may help your issue.
was your issue fixed? i’m still having this problem…
