I often will begin an Fenix Airbus flight in 2D until it’s time to taxi. I also use GSX and generally always fuel and load passengers. I’ll start my Quest 3, bring up Virtual Desktop and go into VR mode. It almost always works perfectly and I have smooth visuals and over 30 FPS. Takeoff and climb are beautiful and in 3D it’s far easier to get my throttle detents correct. Once the climb is established and everything steady state, instead of sitting for hours of cruise with the headset on, I’ll drop out of VR mode, turn off VD and the headset and go off and eat or any of the other human things, even watch some TV. If BATC hollers at me I can hear it and I’ll return when it’s time to descend.
Back goes the headset on, VD is started and into VR mode. This is when things get shaky and I’m generally greeted with some pretty annoying stuttering that lasts for a few minutes. It generally fixes itself (sometimes you have to toggle VR mode) but it really is tough to deal with. I notice this same situation if I mess with sim rate. When I get back to 1X, I have the same stuttering and anomalies.
This seems like something hangs over from the first time in VR that needs to be reset once you drop out of it. Same goes for sim rate. Anyone else have this experience?
My rig is a 5700X3D, RTX4060ti with 16gb, 64GB ram.
