SU 12 Popup Instrument windows

Hello,
I need help regarding the new SU12 feature of storing tool popup windows.

Probably due to my mistake the windows of the Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 are placed (and recorded) outside the visible monitor area and now they are not displayed even by restarting the sim.

For testing I tried extracting the Cessna 208 PFD and MFD and they appear correctly.

My question is:

  • Is there a command that “resets” the popup in the main screen or in any case in a visible position?
  • Where are the positions of the Popups stored and are they accessible and therefore modifiable?

Thank you
Ciao

Not sure if it works with Sim Popouts, but once they are popped out, are you able to hold down the Windows Key and use the left / right arrows to move them back to visible monitor?

Alternatively, you could use this tool.

Thank you
I tried “Win Key + arrow keys” but the only effect is the scaling and positioning corresponding to the used arrow of the main window of the sim.
I use Windows 11

I know popout manager but i need to use the latest feature included in SU12.
At the moment the popped windows are not visible only for PMDG 737 and Fenix Airbus.
For other planes this works correctly.

I also know that the PMDG and FENIX popup windows have the same name and are therefore saved by MSFS in one location while the stock plane popups have different names and keep the locations where they were initially placed.

Yes, but if you try using POPM, perhaps when it moves them the Sim will remember where they were and at least get them back to visible for you.

Understood
I try that now and report.

Ok this works because POPOUT Manager uses window names like “Panel1 Custom” (you see it on the window titlebar) while the Popout function included in SU12 gets the name “WASMInstrument” from the titlebar.
It is this setting that I am looking for and would like to know if the saved coordinates are available and editable anywhere.
Also where is “WASMInstrument” x-y values recorded ?

Anyway thanks

Ok… fixed.
Found and repositioned the “WASMInstrument” window, now I can reposition (and save) the Popout positions with the MSFS function.
Ciao and thanks

Explaining how might be useful for someone else.

Right: I repositioned the secondary displays in the Windows Display Manager to show the area where I had (mistakenly) moved the WASMInstrument popup window.
Once the window was returned to the main display, I closed the sim and checked that everything was fine on the next restart.

I was left curious where window positions and sizes are stored after SU12 and if there is a command available to reset these values.

The problem remains that non-stock planes (i.e. Fenix and PMDG) assign the same name “WASMInstrument” to all extracted windows.

Ciao

thank you @PilotaX57. I have the same problem as yours. Now problem solved

Hi guys, I downloaded the zip of this tool, pasted the folder they indicate inside the community folder, I started the simulator, opened the manager window, and here we are, I created a profile as explained in the video, Aerosoft CRJ, I clicked start panel selection, I choose the primary display n1 navigation display n2, only that when I go to click on start pop out, it continues to choose panels with numbers, it remains stuck wherever you touch with the mouse it marks numbers everywhere practically the start pou out does not work

Read the last bit of information in step 3.

This?

  1. Now start a flight with your chosen aircraft. Once your flight is started, you’re ready to select the panels you want to pop out. Please click “Start Panel Selection” to define where the pop out panels will be using LEFT CLICK. Use CTRL-LEFT CLICK when selection is completed. You can also move the number circles at this point to do final adjustment.

A bit difficult to explain (maybe) but I’ll try:
1 - I set the positions of the glasses instruments that interest me popup (typically
1 - PDFs
2 - ND
3 - MFD
4 - MCDU)
2 - Before starting the automatic extraction by PopOut Manager, I create a “down” view of the cockpit since PopOut Manager (I don’t understand why) repositions it on execution.
Finally (first time only) I reposition and resize the Popups in the “Panel Locations and Settings” screen to refine the operation.

P.S. I have tested this procedure with CRJ Aerosoft, ATR Microsoft and the FBW.

Yes the bit in bold. If you don’t tell it when you are done it will think every click is another popout location you’ve selected.

Looks like the issue we’ve been discussing in MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager (with Touch Support) [v3.4.6]. I think the problem specifically with the CRJ is that for whatever reason it doesn’t store the size and location of its popout windows. And on top of that, CRJ windows pop out as nearly maximized.

This does not seem to be an issue with other aircraft such as CJ4, Kodiak etc. With the latter we can scale down the pop out windows and as their new position/size is stored automatically by MSFS, it’s easy to set them up for POPM addon.

Whether the above issue is with the CRJ or with MSFS, I cannot say.

I’ve read of a few workarounds (mentioned in that other thread) but the only one I found working for me is a crazy POV to capture as many windows as possible. Sadly not all (e.g. not the EFB or the RTU) but at least I can have most of them popped out and sent to a tablet via POPM addon and Spacedesk.

Hi,

Each time i click on ATR or FENIX A320 panel with AltGr the “WASINSTRUMENT” windows open reduced at the bottom of my screen.
If i move and resize this windows and close it next time i open it is reduced again… :triumph:

For information, i first used “MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager” before i discovered that the function already exist in MSFS 2020 by pressing AltGr. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Thank for your help
