Whenever a new usb device is connected, the SIM freezes for 4 to 5 seconds. I don’t know if it’s the same when one disconnects.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

I have a USB device that keeps disconnecting for a moment. I don’t (yet) know which device.

I suspect it’s a usb power limitation issue, but it happens irregularly every do often. Each time the SIM hangs for a few seconds. Then back to normal.

It’s a bit irritating, and although it’s not the sim’s fault the usb disconnects, the pause is the fault of the sim.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

This bug has been around since day 1, ps.

try to disable USB “selective energy saving” in extended energy settings

I found the problem!

After making sure the power settings were correct, I unplugged and reconnected each of the USB cables and video connectors (they make the same bingeley-bong) but it made no difference.

I made sure that each usb cable was connected to a port or powered hub easily able to supply the power. I removed unneeded USB devices

Still random usb disconnects/reconnects even when nothing is running, noone is near the pc.

Then I noticed that the settings jog dial of one of the touchscreen monitors wasn’t looking right.

Took the back off the monitor to discover that the electronics are all on a small circuit board, which was glued, not screwed, into place.

The glue simply wasn’t sticky any more, so the circuit board had moved inside the case. When I plugged usb or hdmi plugs in, they weren’t going all the way into the sockets, making an intermittent connection.

Five minutes later, my hot melt glue gun (branded Woolworths, so not entirely new) had fixed the problem.

All is now good, it was not the fault of Asobo, not the fault of Microsoft.

Hey Guys excuse the bump to this thread but was there ever any reason for this issue found ?

I have the 5-10s freezing happen when plugging in USB devices, not on removal.

It is very annoying when I’m on multi-monitor switching between sim and my Web Browsing laptop via USB KVM (though it’s not the KVM fault, it happes same whenever I plug a USB device directly into sim PC).
