SU2 Won't change the Community folder and even by editing config it won't read the contents

Marketplace settings will not keep the selected community folder, no matter what. It always resets to default after restart.
While editing UserCfg.opt (Thanks @HotSouvlaki522 ) will force it to change, it won’t read the contents of the specified folder.

(BeyondATC also sent a memo in discord about Community folder not being read)

I am having the same problem. My Community folder is on a different drive but SU2 has reset the path to it.

Went to the ‘My Library’ part of the Markeplace, hit the cog but whenever I select my new path I dont get the chance to hit ‘Confirm’ as the path selection window just closes - which means the default (C: drive path) stays active and can’t be changed.

Anyone know which settings file I can edit to change the path manually until this is fixed?

try to edit the file UserCfg.opt in the the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache, at the end of the file the is a parameter called
InstalledPackagesPath “I:\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024”

i haven’t tried it but maybe it will work.

While it marks the folder to be used in next FS boot, it wont switch to it.

After restarting MSFS 2024 still:

No it doesn’t switch to it

After manually changing UserCfg.opt.Thanks @HotSouvlaki522 .While it shows the selected folder in the UI. No Community addon is visible to the sim. Airports and Aircraft are invisible to it while they are still in the Community folder.

When you select your chosen Community folder using the Browse button, that settings window just closes and doesnt allow you to click Confirm. At least thats what is happening for me

My Community folder has remained in place.

But, that last line about NextBoot makes other apps not able to find the community folder.

Mine as well. In fact all of my settings remain as they were before I updated.

I just tested the Navigraph Hub app, and was able to update, remove, then re-install the Navigraph data.

Unable to change the location of the Community folder. After modifying and restarting MSFS2024, it still defaults to drive C.

I can’t change the community folder. When I restart, it goes back to standard.

Have you tried mimicking this format (with your custom path in the first line, obviously), because it works on both my PCs:

InstalledPackagesPath "D:\MSFS Content\2024"
InstalledPackagesPathNextBoot ""

Yes. Now it shows the edited path. Yet it does not read the contents of the folder. For example Inibuilds 350, Black Square Dukes, Tampa’s Athens Venizelos, which are addons in the Community folder, are no longer visible in the sim.

I have made my mods on C and all of them are displayed so far, I have to wait until it is fixed

I didn’t need to adjust my usercfg.opt file after the SU2b install, and it reads my Community folder just fine. Had a flight in the Blackbird PC-6 last night.

I manually edited my usercfg.opt file aimed at my Community folder -
InstalledPackagesPath “G:\MSFS2024\Community”
InstalledPackagesPathNextBoot “”
and it finally stuck when looking at the library settings in sim.
However none of my ORBX scenery appeared in sim even though listed in G:\MSFS2024\Community.

I then opened ORBX Central and made sure the Library path was still set to G:\MSFS2024\Community.
Still no luck having ORBX scenery appear in sim.
So I deleted the ORBX scenery manually and reinstalled using ORBX Central.
However ORBX scenery installation created the following path: G:\MSFS2024\Community\Community...scenery folders with all the ORBX scenery folders present and now available in sim…no idea why.
Plus Navigraph installed all it’s bits and pieces in the same G:\MSFS2024\Community\Community folder.

EDIT: And yet in sim, my library path is still set to G:\MSFS2024\Community
EDIT#2: When I click on the Open button for the “Community folder” in the sims “My library” it opens File Explorer to G:\MSFS2024\Community\Community…

I’m confused to the max.

Not only the community,My rolling cache also can not be saved to my wanted directory!!!
How stupid is Asobo to do this ■■■■■■■ bugs

How strange.

Like @hobanagerik after installing SU2 the sim retained my custom path from SU1 and it reads the contents, too.
