What is a default asset?

Aircraft, Scenery etc.

I’m so hopeful this will help with all the stuttering on approach and landing.

Couldn’t we download them before. I had some sceneries and 3rd party aircraft that were working fine in SU2?

DEFAULT assets are now downloadable.

This thread needs more detailed information, such as:

How big is the default asset file?

You mention airports, but should I download them one by one or all available ones, as in 2020?

You mention a scenario. Can you elaborate further to understand what it is specifically? My hypothesis: A level 3 world as indicated by the SDK.

And the most important question of all: with that file downloaded, will it allow me to skip the famous gray screen after launching the game if there’s an internet outage?

Curious to know if Bing data is also being downloaded. Won’t have time to hop on until later tonight so thank you in advance.

No problem! It is basically the same as it was in MSFS2020, so if for say you own the Premium Deluxe Edition, you can download all the aircraft, scenery and airports that is included in the PD edition. You can also download all world and city updates if you wish.

Can you take a screenshot for more context? As you explain, we could already do that in the store. I don’t remember if it was blocked or not. I think it wasn’t.

I’ve not looked at My Library for quite a while. I’m now on SU3 v1.5.1.0 & this is what I’m seeing:

Was the FDownload option there previously?

Thanks to a reddit user who answered me:

  • Base Content (aircraft and stuff) takes up around 221GB of space.
  • Air Traffic takes up another 216GB.
  • Challenges take up 303MB.
  • Every single WU, CU so far takes around 150GB

I don’t see it - (I see 2020 like always) but no 2024

Now it remains to be seen, thanks to SmotheryVase665’s capture, that among those 326 elements is there any ground-related, something that contains a name for what 2020 does without an internet connection, a basic terrain that doesn’t prevent you from flying without an internet connection, if there is one of course.

Nope!
This is definitely a good thing.
