A good test is to uninstall those items and retest, just to be certain those things installed are what reduced the stutters.
downloaded the whole thing and then could not install. as soon as I click install the sim freezes. back to su2.
I left the SU3 beta and i am at SU2 now. All working, i didnât edit or do anything to achieve this. Have a great day you all.
edit: I feel like i am on msfs2020 now, my experience improved. I hope Devs keep up the great work and fix more issues for community, also add more wishlists for us all.
Blockquote I can confirm that this is indeed true. SU2 has been much smoother after downloading everything from the beta and reverting back. That is how Iâve been able to use pmdgâs 777 while having all of the world updates downloaded
Yes I can confirm that if we delete the rolling cache by deleting reserved data will delete all of our downloads. Just go to settings, online then scroll to rolling cache and decrease it by 1 gig and a prompt screen will pop up warning you that your rolling cache will be deleted. Increasing your rolling cache doesnât give the same prompt. So I just decrease 1 gig save and then increase again.
I used to have rolling cache set to 128gb but have now halved it as I have downloaded all WU, CU, most base game and premium deluxe aircraft and all my third party airports. Still stutters a bit at airports but no where near as bad as when streaming.
I donât understand quite well. If I deleate rolling cache in Xbox by setting a small number, save and then increased it to the wanted number, it will deleate the downloaded and installed content that now we are able to download like basic content and aircraft?
No.
If you go to clear Reserved Space via the Xbox Dashboard (so external to the sim), you will lose all downloaded content.
If you make the change to a different size Rolling Cache, then change it back to your desired size within the sim itself, you wonât affect your downloads.
Basically, the Xbox doesnât have a user-accessible file system like a PC. All downloaded content, Rolling Cache, and a few settings are saved in that Reserved Space âfileâ. If you delete it, you delete everything within it.
Understood, thanks!!
Thatâs what I did today. For XBX and my internet connection stutters in Frankfurt were obvious as soon as I deinstalled the plane and Airport. After downloading and installation, stutters were gone.
Thatâs good. I canât say Iâve noticed any difference, I only fly GA from small airfields generally, and with and without world updates and base content installed it was smooth both times and looked the same to me.
Currently I see no benefit but that could change.
Welp, I backed out - too many CTDs especially on the PC-12/24 which Iâve been flying more lately.
Kept some of the files - mostly the Passive Aircraft Traffic - which honestly looks really good now when they taxi around. No LOD popping!
So PSA if youâre going to back out - UNINSTALL the files you donât want to keep before you leave the beta.
Upon rejoining SU2 RTM, verify by visual scan that all the Categories you need files streamed are in fact streaming, just to make sure the Uninstall and Back Out reconciled the files correctly. Look for Disabled Red banner items.
You should also check the Official2024 Package folder and visually confirm what you see in there is what youâre supposed to have kept.Check the hidden .fscontent folder, make sure itâs empty.
Good luck yâall!
I have now managed to get onto Beta 3 - when you download content where does it put it?
With everything installed. it took 3:17.84 minutes to get to the start button on Xbox Series X. It took 30.40 seconds to spawn in after selecting a plane, but the âdisco floorâ was still an issue spawning in. For this run the C152 was used. There was a little stutter upon moving cam in 3rd person view. And when camera transitioned from 3rd person view to 1st person, the gauges were blurred for a second and returned to normal. Tall, thin buildings were blurry until about 1 nmi to the point Other than that, I see no other issues.
When you download content in Beta SU3, it gets stored on your disk in the OneStore folder. You can find this folder inside the Official2024 directory, which is located in the same parent folder that also contains the Community folder.
For example, aircraft that have been downloaded but not yet installed will typically have a â-tempâ suffix in their folder name.
Donât forget to install the downloaded content after itâs finished downloading
Yup im on starlink in the woods and downloaded everything lol this is my saving grace!
We need to learn how this works. I hope some CMs of Mods can get some information from Devs.
Seeking some wisdom: if I have a third party airport installed (in community folder) does the sim stream that same airport before overwriting with the third party data? For example, I have FlyTampa YSSY Sydney that fixes several bugs in standard scenery. I have disabled YSSY in the streamed data and it seems that loading is significantly faster and taxiing around the airport is not reducing FPS too much. I have real traffic turned on so I presume the only data needed is real traffic and ATC data. Anyone able to confirm this is how it works?
If data is downloaded while using SU3 Beta, will the transition to SU3 later wipe the downloaded data? If so, then maybe only download those airports (and aircraft) that you need to test the concept.
Is it too late to submit this for the dev stream?
Remember this is still in beta. Quoted from Jayne:
